A kite specific to girls?

Shoot the breeze and stay in the loop with the unhinged and unhooked word on the street.

I dont think its that good of an idea because not that many girls kitesurf - perhaps 1 out of every 30 lads?

a lot share their partners kites, some buy second hand which does not leave many and out of the few that are left, how many will like the way the kite flies?

With kites people have very personal preferences so chances of every girl or even half the girls liking that one are pretty slim

Well I guess your kinda right but Dimitri will do what he wishes to do....it's worked pretty good so far!
So...It's going ahead regardless and personally we ca't wait!

From Dimitri

Ladies,
I know the bar is a very important issue and that's why I am spending a lot of time on the WAHINE bar as well. For example, the (Wahine) ladies bar will have a 45cm throw compare to the 60cm throw the normal bar has. Plus the loop of the CL will be way smaller. Also the bar diameter of the bar will be much narrower then the normal bar we have and the POWER/DEPOWER strap will be 6cm longer then the normal strap that we have now on our XTEND BAR. So everything will be very close for you to reach.
Now concerning EVA graphics and look of the WAHINE bar…. we are still working on.

Non interchangeable ladies specific kit is going to be hard to shift and affect the resell price. Tell Dimitri to use an adjuster for the bar throw and then every Epic rider can customise their bar according to their arm length and not a random, standard length.

And this is 1 kite out of probably 100+ so chances are that any women who do kite will take a look at this if they are thinking of buying new kites.

You say that people have very personal preferences so surely more choice is a good thing :|

The down side to a women specific kite is when they want to sell it. As it's still a male dominated sport there will be less if a market to sell to, but then again it might not matter with some :p

Lol on the vanity bar mirror.

We fly Naish Parks 7,8,10,12 and we bought a 6m Alana. My wife doesn't use the Alana bar as she prefers above the bar depower. and I have used the bright pink with blue flowers on kite more than she has. It's a bit of a gimmick but it's a dam good kite, and I think it looks rad.

It's all a gimmick at the end of the day, North sells kites for chavs, Slingshot for old people who want to look/feel cool, Naish just for old people, Flysurfer for weirdos and now Wainman has a kite for girls (girl specific kite not the the RPM which is just a girls kite)

I do think the Alana bar has been designed with the best intentions as a girls specific bar, shorter throw, smaller diameter etc etc etc, but the Alana kite is just a Park but with 'girly' graphics. If you love the Park then you will love the Alana, personally I think it looks cool as fook and really stands out on the beach! Also I feel fully masculine using it as its a 6m so if I'm on it then it's NUKING! In the picture above I was out on my own in 40knts X-off in Tiree, don't think anyone was questioning if I had an extra Y chromosome that day.

Lol! But you could say all kites are for the old as majority of youngsters cannot afford them. I notice you have left out a few makes, are they for gays? :p I like my big girly kite :)

Cabrinha have the Siren series of girl only kit - there is merit to it. Not sure if the volume is there for too many brands though. Sure some girls will love it.
