Re: Any West Wittering kitesurfers here

Have to say I'm with you Bri, the south east is simply a bloody overcrowded bit of the UK. plenty of sports suffer because of the sheer volume of people in this neck of the woods. meh!

Witterings is classic rich land owner stiffing well off locals, might as well be private golf club. Wrong. West Wittering estate was bought some 20 years ago by local residents clubbing together to preserve the beach. It was about to become a Butlins I believe. So it's owned and preserved a beach t...

Re: Any West Wittering kitesurfers here

I used to get a proper bee in my bonnet about this, as a west wittering local. It's on a private estate, and as usual there's lots of debate about the high water mark/access etc. Fact is though, that it's one of the busiest beaches in the country on a sunny day, and kiting there does need to be mana...

Re: Booties recommendation

I'm with Joe - I've had some oneill mutants for the last couple of seasons and they have been execellent - mainly down to the sole being pretty thin yet very grippy. I'm actually in them already as it's getting a bit chilly so winter suit is on and i end up with a ton of water up the leg if I don't ...

Re: Which Wetsuit?

I've got a summer gooru but I gather it's the same sort of neoprene (albeit thicker). super stretchy and comfy - for the money it's a killer suit.

I think it's a ratings bot - post a question on a forum, get replies, link back to a website.

Re: Dempsey Windsurfing Silver Medal

True James, but the levels of participation in the late 80s/90s in windsurfing was far higher than what kiting enjoys currently. Still, I reckon there is space for both Kites and windsurfers. Very exciting to watch the racing this week.

Re: Dempsey Windsurfing Silver Medal

Will watch with interest to see how those who make the switch do - Dempsey was being a bit coy on the bbc when they asked him about Rio, so I expect he'll be learning to kite pretty soon to see if he can transfer. I reckon the big difference will be getting used to the closing speeds on ROW issues -...

Re: Gokova Kiteschools

I'm with Gokova Ruzgar on this - great kite centre and great kite school - all lessons are conducted with helmets I've seen it in action.

Yavuz and the team are a fantastic bunch of instructors and it's a shame they have to come on here to defend against unwarranted attacks like this.
