Re: BKSA Membership/insurance

With it being 3rd party, would you even hear about any claim via insurance anyway? If you're not insured I imagine you will definitely hear about it.

What happened then? In 12 years of kiting I'm still yet to hear the details of any claims. It's one of these things that everyone should have but seems no one has ever had a claim???
As far as I know...nothing...

Re: BKSA Membership/insurance

Just because you have insurance it does not protect against negligence. Your a sensible chap, if loads of kids started playing in your kiting spot you would stop, if you were a responsible adult you would not let your children play in that area. If you the above applies you have removed some of the...

Re: Flexifoil Sky Bar - flag out system test ?

Doesn't it depend on the kite design as well? I mean all kites will flag onto a front line but there's still potential for it to spin. To be fair the dual front line safety works but as you say, get over-powered and you're stuffed. I put my Mutiny S kites onto a single line flag. They were designed ...

You would be about £1500 better off.

Re: LEI or another FB? Can't decide.

Think you have to decide whether you want to kitesurf or not. You really need to commit and be compelled to do it. Sticking to 'what you know' will never get you on the water. Just do it. I've been kiting for years and there's always been a healthy supply of used Blades. Give it a go for a season an...

Re: Flexifoil

I was really disappointed with the ID. Looked great. Hated it from the start. Appreciate its characteristics but just never got on with it. Always felt like I'd been dragged through a hedge backwards after a session on the ID.

Re: Flexifoil Force - 5 line? North 5th element bar and line

If the force has a 5th line option I still wouldn't use the north 5th element bar. Youll spend more time faffing than kiting trying to get it to work. What's wrong with 4 lines anyway?

Probably a naive question but why don't we make kites in the UK?

Not too crispy but I do love a 'sea' shaped kite as well.

Re: New to surfboard

Done the same. I nailed some footsteps to my surfboard and I think it made it easier to go off and ride pretty much straight away but I'm finding they are a hindrance whilst learning to gybe. Taking your feet out of the straps and just riding along is pretty easy after a bit so I'm getting rid of my...
