Re: Winter wetsuits / coming home

Hey Chris,

Good to hear from you, long time.
I am looking forward to getting back, between work and the distance from the coast I have only had 2 sessions this year in January.

Is lancing still pretty busy ? Are many people foiling in the light wind days ?

Winter wetsuits / coming home

hi Guys, I currently live in OZ and will be coming back to the UK next year to settle (Brighton and Hove area) so Shoreham, Lanceing and Hove will be my preferred riding spots. It will be 7 years away but I assume it's the same old crews at those spots, although I did hear Lanceing got a hut ? and s...

Re: some safety stuff worth a ponder

I think this is good advice, the trick is to try and stay calm. Easier said than done I got caught in a deathloop situation in cape Hatteras in 2011 on an old Flexifoil. I hit the release nothing happened and now I am at the end of the leash, I just climbed the lines and grabbed a few meters of stee...

Could I get some reviews on king of water sports. I am having some issues and I want to see if I am a one off case or not before I work out how to move forward.

Thanks

Re: replacing a 555

I used to kite Shoreham Lanceing and miss the south coast chop compared to some NYC spots the south coast UK is not that bad chop wise.
The Nobile shinn pro was a much nicer ride than the 555, but was too small at 130x40 hence regrettably selling it.
Thanks for the help

Re: replacing a 555

I would say that 42 is your ideal width, try not to go 44.. Unless you are 90kg+ I think you will feel the extra drag. The 42 will feel more alive underfoot and they are very efficient, so unless you are having issues getting upwind and going generally I would stay with the 42. You'd gain on the bot...

Re: Sunburnt eyes and other wierd stuff

Get a pair of sea specs. What your describing is a phenomenon called surfers eye the salt water dilates your pupils and let's in more light and the sea reflect more light burning your retinas. Did an 11 +hr day on the water in Hatteras NC took me 2 weeks for my eyes to stop hurting its like a dull a...

I read your post the life guards should have spoke to him when he was setting up, I kited shoreham and Lancing when I lived in Brighton. I know your frustration but coming on a forum calling him a clown and a cretin shows you have a bad attitude, we all had to learn sometime. And it wasn't me and I...
