Re: Best 2013 RP bar size question

Thanks cowboy. It's for my girlfriend who will only use it with 5,7 and 9. I prefer a bigger bar but she finds it a bit bulky. Wondering how she will find this new one as it's physically as big as my bar just won't steer as quick.

Best 2013 RP bar size question

Just bought one of these (the 47cm one) but it looks really big for a 47 bar. It is 47cm between back lines where they leave the bar but the actual bar is about 52cm. Can anybody measure their bar and confirm that the size is measured between rear lines as I've nothing to compare it too where I am (...

Re: Tiree Ferry Booking?

Definitely worth booking - loads of people come over a week or so before the wave classic and if the forecast looks good you may be stuck in Oban for a day or two (you can go on the standby list if it's full and often get on but it's a bit risky). Always some kiters about, you won't be on your own. ...

Re: tiree camping

Are you bringing a van or caravan? If so there are plenty of official parking places all around the island but you need to pay £10 per night (per van). There is water and a chemical toilet disposal place in Scarinish but if you want a shower then you would have to stay at the campsite. If you are ju...

Re: Driving to Tarifa

Done it loads of times in a motorhome but found ferry to Bilbao or Santander is much much easier. Can do it in 12 hours from there but you get to Northern Spain early am so you can get there in the evening. By the time you factor in fuel and toll roads through France it's worth the extra on the ferr...

bar and lines prices

Is it just me or does £370 rrp for a bar and lines seem extortionate ? I was thinking about changing my kites to Ozone Reo's but I can't justify that. I always get two bars and I know there are discounts and deals to be had but even so - that price has changed my mind. Yes prices have gone up a bit ...

What's the most durable 4 line bar / lines ?

It seems I'm constantly replacing worn out bits on my bar / lines (best red line 2011) so I want to replace it with one that is going to give me less grief. I've always loved best kites since the Waroo days but always been dissapointed with the bars / lines so am not very tempted to part with £320 f...

Re: Whats the most unushall thing you have seen out on the w

Ha ha, no it was just a message from some children on holiday. Hadn't come far though, just from Zahara up the coast.

Re: Whats the most unushall thing you have seen out on the w

Kiting amongst basking sharks is a fairly regular thing on Tiree in the Summer months. I also found a message in a bottle once about 300m out from Rio Jara in Tarifa.

Re: help with kiteboard damaged in post

"any dealer should do that immediately once it is acknowledged it is damaged" - have to agree but obviously not all dealers ! Unfortunately it's cracked - had it been a scratch I doubt I would have even called them.

Re: help with kiteboard damaged in post

Thanks, yes that's what I understand but they are have so far made me wait 11 days since delivery and the only person that can make the decisions is avoiding my calls and emails, even when he is there in the office right next to the person I am speaking to. So far I have made about 14 phone calls an...

Re: help with kiteboard damaged in post

Well the package was damaged but I hoped the board would be ok inside as generally twin tips are pretty tough. Couldn't see the courier hanging around whilst I unpacked it and checked it all over. I would not have signed for it in that condition but they didn't ask (big courier company using a local...

help with kiteboard damaged in post

If you buy a kiteboard (new) from a dealer and it gets damaged by the courier, what should happen? It wasn't signed for because I suspected damage by the look of the packaging and the courier didn't ask for a signature. Took photos and still have damaged board still wrapped in cellophane. Although t...
