Re: Camber Sands Tide Times Who To Believe?

Wind looks good for tomorrow but I don't want a bit of groin action thanks so trying to work out when high tide is. Magic seaweed says 11.55, surf-forecast says 1.30 and thebeachguide says 1.50? I know the clocks go back tonight so perhaps this is part of the issue? what times would be good tomoz t...

Car Park also floods at Brancaster at very high tide - seen photos on the web with cars under water who misjudged tide times.

Re: Can anyone seriously kite hard for more than 1 hour?

Heard people say "I did 8 hours on the water"? How can that be? If I ride hard I'm spent in 40minutes, if I ride softer I can maybe do just over an hour. After that I'm just riding with no juice. What you recon? Don't know about 8 hours but 4,5 or 6 is very possible - been there done it and have th...

Re: Powerkite Shop - Wow.

Lucky you :-) know a few ppl who wait for ages for the order. I placed an order some time ago then called them to check the availability, waited 2 weeks, called them a few times... nothing happened, cancel my order bought somewhere else. Then repeated my mistake and pretty much the same happened......

Re: 2010 Hunny Wind Predictions

I've found the met office and windfinder to be the most accurate for there.
July 4th - Met Office predicted Gusts of 38mph how accurate was this to recorded speeds from the beach ?

Re: Lost North Evo kite today

A young lady learner lost a nearly new North Evo today at Old Hunstanton. I think it was an 8m, white in colour. If anyone hears anything she left her details at the lifeboat shop to give to give to the the office. I chased it for about 3-4 miles but then it hit the sea miles downwind and blew offs...

Re: Kitesurfing and rain.

Anyone else have that electricity build-up on their lines? I never considered that, all I felt was this, 'all-over tingle' and as-if my hair was alive. I just hit the deck after managing to land my kite. I've been hammered so-often by squalls I regard myself as, 'been lucky' so I don't push those b...

2010 Hunny Wind Predictions

Question for locals about Wind/Gust prediction accuracy With lack of wind, it being offshore or gusts almost or over the maximum limit I can fly my kites, it has been frustrating trying to plan trips this year. So the question - if you have been monitoring all the prediction weather sites, how accur...
