Re: Union 4 - real world review and tech info on Airush's latest mainstream flagship kite

A separate review. John Bouchet - Jersey - UK This guy is well ahead of me in standard (freestyle) and also foils and waverides, so pretty allround.. He uses Razor mostly with a bit of Ultra and Wave. I had a mega first session on the Union V4 10m yesterday, I stuck my woo in freestyle mode and was ...

Re: Union 4 - real world review and tech info on Airush's latest mainstream flagship kite

From one of our riders - Kostas in Troon... rde the V1, 2 and 3 unions before the 4. Got the new Airush Union V4 couple of weeks ago but I had to wait for the right wind before trying them. Got to test the 12m twice this week and here is what I think. First of all, it is important to have the full p...

Union 4 - real world review and tech info on Airush's latest mainstream flagship kite

Hi All, Here in the UK we have a good following on the Union series kites - so I thought it prudent to get this on the web as reference for anyone who's wanting answers when looking at the new Union 4. Airush do dance about with this kite between years and 2019 is no exception. So for all those Unio...

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

That's a good writeup, thanks. P foil is amazing - it beings last years "lesson in pain" session into a new era - a 100% enjoyable experience. Last year we were using 4x the power to initiate foiling, then going into FULL SPEED emergency destruction management, resulting it massive stacks, again and...

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

I was a little sceptical at first, but well adjusted the pad is a lot nicer - seems to lock in well and lots of support.

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

Hi Steve - Yup - mounting nuts come with the board - they are M6.
You'll just have to be careful that the bots are long enough to fit through your plate and get enough of a hold into the nut. If not then the M6 bolts are super easy to source.

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

The foil comes with the plate included, so it's ready tp go... On a shinnster you really need the plate to stiffen it.
If you want to put this on a surfboard then you need 2 10" fin boxes thoroughly glassing into the board

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

Tested the Foils over 2 days now - Had a session in Wales with Marc from Blast and a session yesterday with Ollie, Steph and the rest of the Bridge crew. It's been really interesting - a lot to say about them. Though the F foil went down very well in Exmouth, it's the P foil that I think will revolu...

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

Hi guys, I'm in need of a new twin tip and I'm very interested in the Shinns, especially the new line up. I need something to replace my current board which is a Naish Thorn 135X43 (I think) which is from 2009, always liked it but it does have a few problems. One of which is the flex, little too mu...

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

So, is the new foil a copy of the Zeeko or something completely new? Completely new. We were familiar with zeeko - it won all the tests last year, but the shinn is completely different wings, fuselage, mast, - everything is 100% shinn built in the shinn factory - not a single component shared. Inde...

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

Mike, whats your thoughts on a dedicated foil board over something like the El Stubbo? and are the Shinster and el stubbo compatible with the new foils, if they are I assume the foil kit will be needed, but obviously not needed on the Jackson? Tony The El stubbo and the Shinnster are compatible wit...

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

Model P is very interesting. I always thought that a shorter mast was a way of reducing the funk of learning, but I've been told that there is a much better way... Model P wing was developed as a super stable, easy sup wing - capable of foiling under 10kph, handling well with extreme resistance to s...
