Re: Last two weeks in June...Scotland ?

I really enjoyed reading this. Made me want to go back again which I think I'll do in later October (as the wind is pretty much guaranteed then). The number of spots there are on north / south uist is amazing. Went to Lewis / Harris last year which seemed spot poor in comparison.

Re: North wales kitesurfing schools

Is Steve Jones the guy in Rhyl? I never knew he was there, but my dad lives around there and walks his dogs on the beach every day, he told me there was somebody teaching in the area Kinmel Bay, and mainly at Black rock sands these days. Simon (the prokitesurfing.co.uk guy) is at rhyl. Not sure if ...

Whatever you do stay away from Steve Jones. Guy is just in it for the money and has been known to take his students out in unsafe conditions and in hugely unsafe numbers (upwards of 8-1).

Re: New to surfboard

the problem I had with foot straps is that it makes gybing that much harder. I found actually riding strapless to be fairly easy and picked it up pretty quickly (just the riding to be fair, not so much the turning around). The only time I've had trouble is in the bigger swell at rhosneigr where my b...

is worth mentioning that the switch bar is 4 line equal length low Y. Though I've found that the swivel of theirs manages to eat through the front lines like mad.

Re: Wetsuit Vs Drysuit

Just got a front entry patagonia r3 suit. It is definitely a challenge to get out of, but I am starting to get the hang of it solo style. The really nice thing about the front zip is it is much less prone to flushing. I had to get pummelled face first into the water at speed to make it flush, and ev...

Re: follow the leader quad copter

It's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. I wouldn't say that so much. The heli / quad shots are quite spectacular of most sports including kitesurfing. Being able to rock up to a beach and not have to have someone sitting on the beach flying the quad around for you is pretty cool. Isn't it ...
