Re: BKSA Membership/insurance

why do I need insurance? If I need insurance for this do I need it to play Frisbee on the beach? That’s a good question. Let’s suppose you trash something expensive when your kite line breaks on your 2007 Slingshot or you hit a child on the beach, leading to a serious condition. You live at home wi...

Re: Kitesurfing with a Garmin Fenix 3 HR

Nice one!
One tip for when you get it, download Garmin express on your pc and you will see links thru to the PDF manual.
Use this manual as the online one is a bit lacking in detail.

Re: Kitesurfing with a Garmin Fenix 3 HR

I just got a Fenix 3 this week, really pleased with it. I use 'bike' mode for kiting as this records speed, timer and distance. I haven't seen a specific kitesurfing profile to download yet, though you can set up a custom profile. Impressed with synch and ease of use, though there are a million sett...

Re: Moving to South Hampshire

Thanks for the heads up on a phone carrier that actually works!
Calshot sounds like a good spot, I’ll be sure to take a look.

The UK kite forums seem very quiet these days, have people moved to Facebook or something else?

Re: Moving to South Hampshire

Thanks James that’s very helpful. I was thinking about drift options at Calshot in a SW! I’ll have some time to look at the spots before my gear finally arrives by container. I’ll need to suss out the free parking and grassy rigging places for sure. One last unrelated question: Which cell phone carr...

Moving to South Hampshire

Hi I’m planning to return to the UK later this summer after 4 yrs in Massachusetts. Looking to live around the North of Southampton area. (Was a North Norfolk kiter before I left) I did a search for spots and the replies are a bit old now, so I’m looking for current info. I’m an intermediate/advance...

Re: Bladder pinhole repair patches etc

I've used the std patches a few times with no problem. They usually have rounded corners, (which are difficult to cut with tear aid.) Important to make sure the piece of grass/sharp stone isn't stuck in the LE material as it'll re-puncture. Not always possible to fish it out with tweezers, so I rub ...
