Re: Found - Bar and lines at Salterns Park

The bar was reunited with its owner a few weeks after this posting. I asked around at the beach and the owner of a matching kite was able to tell me all about his missing bar.

Returning his bar goes some way for me replaying the kindness of those that have picked up my lost board.

Which 4 line kite to replace Raven and Torches?

What's a good C like 4 line kite to replace some ageing Naish Raven and Torches with? My current thoughts are the 2016 Park hd or maybe some RPMs. I love the totally connected powerful feel of the 5 line kites but am not really good enough to use their full potential and would probably progress fast...

Re: Nairn, Findhorn and Ardersier

Thanks for the comments.
Been looking at flikr photos from Ardersier, and I've got to say that it looks a whole lot better in a SW than I thought it would be. Can't tell how gusty the wind is but the water surface looks good.

Nairn, Findhorn and Ardersier

I'm from Nairn and may have the opportunity to return. I know that Nairn can be good in a W, NW, N and I guess NE or E. But I'm concerned about spots for SW, S or SE winds. I assume that the only candidates would be Ardersier for SW, or Findhorn bay/estuary for SW,S or SE. How gusty are these locati...

Re: First kite size for 14 year old daughter?

I'd go for something like a 7. I got a 9 for my daughter but it was usually too big and she didn't progress much until I got a 7 too. She is something like 45/48kg and now that she is improving my rule of thumb is 13-18knots = 9m, and 17-22knots=7m. I've found the 'ideal' to 'max' range on the kites...

Re: West coast France- which wetsuit?

My 3/2 is long legs with short arms. I think that this is the same as most of the locals.

Re: West coast France- which wetsuit?

I've done most of the west coast in several summer trips and have used the same wetsuit as I do on the southcoast in summer - a 3/2 short arm suit with slighly leaky seams.
It's perhaps sometimes just a tad warm when changing into it on the beach, but fine on the water.
