Re: Skates... Who's riding them?

Hmmm, its close! I think the Tona is slightly better for ollying and feels smaller because its narrower.

Re: Skates... Who's riding them?

you'd be surprised... anything works I reckon! As long as it doesn't have too much rocker it will work! I got to try the Tona, Cab and My custom back to back today... The Tona needs most power, then the Cab, then mine. The Tona does sap a bit more power than my 138 twin tip tho but the wind was drop...

Re: Skates... Who's riding them?

It all depends on Rocker! I have a Tona Driftwood which needs about as much power as a twintip I reckon. I also have the Cab one which is similar in terms of how much power you need. I made a custom one with asymetrical rocker and outline... square and flat (1cm rocker) at one end for light winds (s...

Best Kiteboarding being tight as f**k to Gin Kiteboarding???

I just heard a rumour that Best Kiteboarding have threatened to take legal action against Gin Kiteboarding because Gin have launched a kite called the Guru and Best apparently had some quickly forgotten about kite called a Gooroo(???) years ago. Gin now have to recall all their kites and stick a pat...

Re: How hard is the Hadlow to relaunch?

its a technique thing which is made much easier if you ever learnt to relaunch an old school c-kite. There is also the challenge of having a thin leading edge... the thinner the LE diameter, the more chance there is of getting the kite stuck in a taco position where the top wingtip sticks to the wat...

Re: Kitesurf racing in for Rio 2016 Olympics

Yes we might get voted out in November, but sailing wants to be cool, kitesurfing is cool, RSX Windsurfing is about as uncool as windsurfing gets. I think its a bit harsh to criticise RSX for being uncool... I think the reason it's uncool is that is is designed to cope with the lightest wind condit...

would be funny if the first olympic kitesurfing gold medal goes to a windsurfer :-)

Re: Kite Fabric Rumours...

Flexi have used Teijin for years. I remember trying the Everwell fabric on a prototype ION4. I flew that kite for a year and competed on it. After a year you could see how it had bulged between the seams and it had more of a silky feel to it than crispy. This was not all bad though... the crispy fab...

Re: StormChaser bar/lines question

Yes that bar will work. Any bar that has all 4 lines the same length will work on any Flexifoil 4 line kite... to check, attach all the lines to a fixed point, set the trim strap to full power (longest setting) and pull the bar towards the chickenloop... there should be equal tension on all lines. Y...

Re: Snapped Bridal help...

I love this... most riders seem incapable of trimming their rear lines but you've managed to lose an entire section of bridle and get the kite flying again! Genius! If you like the way the kite flies then keep it as it is but be cautious when flying overpowered and like John says... check you haven'...

8m and 10m HADLOW iD If you like the ION you will feel at home on the iD. I've just had 3weeks in Brazil and if all I'd had was a 10m iD I'd still have kited most days. I used a bigger kite on some days but rarely a smaller kite. For Perth I'd say a 10m iD would be out of the bag most of the time, m...

Re: URGENT: HELP NEEDED! POSSIBLE LOST KITER - POOLE HARBOUR

Kev it was a Cabrinha rider from the Poole area! I think its safe to make all those assumptions and someone needs to let the coastguard know there's no need to search in these circumstances!
