Income protection

Does anybody know of an insurance company that will provide income protection to self employed kitesurfers? Aviva specifically exclude injuries that occur when kitesurfing.

I know this question was asked in 2008 but it would be useful to hear of more up to date answers.

Thanks in advance

Valve cap

Anybody know where I can buy some of these? I've broken a couple. I've searched online for many different terms and I haven't found the right thing!

Thanks

South Africa - july to september

What is south africa like for kitesurfing from july to september? i will be there for the 3 months but don't know if it is worth bringing my kite gear as well as my surfboard.

would appreciate any advice for good wave riding spots.

Re: Surf board v Kitesurf board

I'v a 6'4 shortboard that i kite with and find it fantastic. after using it for a few months i decided to put an extra layer of glass on the deck for strength. I am 95kgs though. skimboards are better for light winds though, with a surfboard between it and your twin tip if you love riding powered up...

Re: Cheapo surf board for strapless riding?

go for it lad. get a board around 6 foot. a kickpad on the tail is nice for kiting too.

its a fantactic feeling having a glassed board on your feet.

best to start cheap+ then if you like that maybe get a custom reinforced glassed board.

im 95kgs and my 6'4 with 4oz glass has lasted so far.

Re: Line lengths for high wind on 7m+9m 07 Fuels

i was having the most fun on the water that day iv had the 7m for a year and the 9m for a few months. I think Lewis uses 20m for ubber windy loops and 23m normally. Its time for me to get a new line set and need to decide 20 or 23m. i use 25m normally and had a 20m set for a short while which looped...

Line lengths for high wind on 7m+9m 07 Fuels

Im wondering what other fuel riders use on these sizes for the really windy days. was thinking of getting a 20m set for megalooping. will this make much difference over the standard 23m on these kites? i know it will reduce the max boost and low end slightly, but will it mean i will land more loops?...

Re: and the award for top 7m kite goes to

i got a 7m 07 fuel 9 months ago. i was a bit apprehensive about getting it TBH, but its fantastic, it was the right kite for me, made me buy a full quiver. good in the gusts, easy relaunch, iv had it out in 55mph on 4 lines, with 5 it would go more, insane :-D

put it on your list to try

Re: Help, Desperately seaking short lines!

big loops are the best craic, enjoying them on my 7m+9m 07fuels. not to totally change the discussion but are there any tips on injury prevention? my thinking is: that if unhooked+crashing you do not want to hit the water with you arms outstretched as that makes your chest very weak- so at the last ...
