Re: Best Kiteboarding and Best UK?????

I can't help but wonder what the Best UK team did wrong? Looking at the Eleveight kites - new project of the former Best design team - and I can't help but notice no UK sales presence. Their (eleveight) promo vids look really good but it still seems nobody wants to pick up a relationship with them a...

Re: September European holiday?

Have a look at Lefkada in Greece. More to do with the family than Gokova. Not sure if the wind is as reliable as Gokova (went late October a couple of years ago and it was pretty consistent). I'd rather take the family to Greece than Turkey at the moment personally. Does Tarifa work well in Septembe...

Re: Bandits - which bar to use?

The Bandit 7 is designed for dual front line release. You can get around different Y-split heights with trim and pigtails, but not double to single line flagging. Dual line flagging was often done because the kite couldn't be tuned such that it didn't carry on looping when released onto a single lin...

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

I have good experiences with the SRS pads. I'm about the same sized feet. With the previous sneaker pads, I used to get a slight pinch on my little toe as I wear boots most of the time and like them fairly snug. Much improved on the new pads. The toe bar works nicely so I actually have my pads loose...

Re: Newbie Looking for good Kitesurfing school

Plenty of choice for learning in your area. Hampshire Kitesurfing possibly furthest away at Lee On Solent. Nomadic are down at Calshot and EasyRiders are down at Poole Harbour. Probably a few others also around in the nearby area. All three locations are good for learning and have a friendly crowd w...

Re: kite bars

Ocean Rodeo are doing a PU stopper for their new shift stick bar. I believe that they will be selling the stopper separately (as in the reps on the forum say they will be). The bar isn't due to go on sale until May/June but if you like your ozone bar it might be worth waiting as a ready made solutio...

Re: The gloves thread

I don't suppose you have a link to show which gloves? Only there are about 40 different types on the website. (http://www.jewson.co.uk/tools-fixings-ironmongery/safety-workwear/hand-protection/gloves/) I have had success with some decathlon neoprene cycling gloves (about 1.5-2mm thick) with latex gl...

Re: Foil Boards

Still at the stage where I can't decide if I like it. Gets me out in lower winds than I used to bother with but not lower than a big ass door would have. Haven't yet developed the skill/confidence to go out in higher winds when I would be on the twin tip and thus get the benefit of the smooth ride o...

Re: Mystic Elevate vs Wave Pro - pros & cons

Sounds good. I'd be slightly interested as to find out how you get on with packing and what weight it all comes out as. The Ammo box was pretty well padded and I didn't have any damage as you would hope. I'm trying work out how to get my foil onto a plane. I have an original Moses Silente and the fi...

Re: Mystic Elevate vs Wave Pro - pros & cons

Who do you fly with? From my limited experience, every extra spare kg is worth it. Some airlines have a 23kg limit and many have a 20kg individual sports equipment limit so you then end up buying an extra £30 worth of regular suitcase luggage (each way). One trip and you may have covered your costs....

Re: Shinn Monk

Looking at the shinn marketing stuff, I'd think the 42 width would work best for you as a high wind board ShinnMonkSizing You would be right at the top of the user range. The 44 might be a better all round board? Both Mark Shinn and Mike B (the importer and owner of ktwodistribution) are normally pr...

Re: Cheapest way to holiday in Tenerife in March

Just got back from there (see thread(ha ha)) in Travel section. I found it cheaper to get an apartment in Arenas del Mar (1.5km down the road) and a hire car (£100 for the week) for the low wind days. In december I was looking at circa£400 for a 7 bed apartment with pool. The main advantage being th...

Re: Southsea

I haven't kited at Southsea but I used to windsurf there a bit. Its not ideal for learning. The shore dump is pretty heavy and its fairly lumpy from memory. If you want fast progression you may find it better to drive to friendlier conditions until you have more experience. CBK doesn't have a waitin...
