Re: Where to holiday in November?

November is Cape Town's windiest month (more kiteable days than January!). Nice and sunny. Enough people to be fun but not so many that the most popular spots are crowded. Our room rates are lower in November - early December. Flights are less. Car rental is less. Come for a longer stay and we will ...

Re: Windy Holiday destinations by month

There are more days of kiteable wind in Cape Town in November than there are in January. Not saying it isn't windy in January, it is just that it is even windier in November!! If anyone fancies coming to Cape Town in November our room rates are lower and we do special deals if you come for a while. ...

Re: Photoraphing Kite Surfers

We are fighting it. Worth ringing your councillor to have a moan about it. Sefton are of the view that a beach can't be open unless they have a dozen public employees patrolling it, which is of course nonsense. The only thing needed is a bit of litter pickup which could easily be funded by a £1 per ...

Re: Kite house in South London

Had a successful first year but now one of the housemates has been offered a promotion coupled to a move to Berlin, so a room is coming free.

PM me if you are interested.

Re: Londoners Drinks

Greetings. Those in London 2005 (even earlier in fact) through 2009/2010 or so will remember the group that used to meet in the Chandos / Montagu Pyke etc. That group still stays in touch but no longer meets regularly at a central location. For those that wish to meet regularly in a central location...

Re: Damaged board claims

The legal analysis in that claims adjuster letter is nonsense on stilts. An A level law book from WH Smith should give you enough guidance to write a more accurate and more convincing letter than that. Good luck Tony. That said successful claims against carriers are a mixed blessing -- good for the ...

Re: London can you hear me??

Thanks @Tienneiosis I have attended the Troy Café meetup a couple of times but getting home to SW London afterwards is a bi@tch. In the old days we used to meet in pubs near Charing Cross as that was central and equally easy for everyone to get home afterwards, wherever they live. If it moves to a c...

Re: Kite Magazines do you read any?

Kiteworld for the pictures / photography. In fact I would love to see the kite mags evolve down this path of lots of photo led stories about riding and spots ... a bit like Surfer's Path? I skim read the text./stories; I completely ignore the reviews (I wonder how they select which kites to review*)...

Re: London can you hear me??

@Chris -- where in London are you? If you let me know I can tell you if there are any active kiteboarders near you that I know of. I know plenty in SW London (Clapham / Putney / Wimbledon / Tooting) and I know a few in other parts of London.

I agree. First, he's a nice guy. Second, he took a few years out to do other stuff. He damaged his knee and had to work hard to strengthen it again. Now he is back at the top level and a small age gap has opened up between him and the current crop at the top. Despite all the above he came out top in...

Kite house in South London

I have got bored of living on my own, so I bought a house in South London and pimped it out. I am going to live on the top floor; middle floor has 3 rooms and family bathroom for lodgers; and the ground floor has a massive shared kitchen with bifold doors to a walled garden and a separate TV room. T...
