Len10 now riding with Best!

All over his Facebook page this morning. The clues were there after seeing the shots of him riding the Best Profanity board recently. Interesting...

Re: North Nugget... Are they really that good?

Amazing boards!! So much fun and easy to get on with. I keep borrowing a friends but need to get my own at some point. Normally ride a WAM but if I had the money I'd get a Nugget to add to the quiver.

You'll love it I'm sure. Will bring a smile back to your riding.

Darkslide tips?

I can do hand dragged back roll kiteloops, but they're a bit hit and miss, which I assume will be very similar timing wise to the darkslides. So, to get those and the darklside nailed this winter.... 1) Is it best to slowly send the kite to 12 or just passed, pop, then initiate a slow loop? 2) Is it...

Re: Bandit six

@ Mistral No you're right, it will stop when the ring comes up against the bar. The length of the red line seems to have worked ok for me so far <12m, but you may be right for 13/14m+ kites, maybe Colin could confirm if he's tried it? I guess it will still flag out enough to depower the kite properl...

Re: Bandit six

I've just done this mod a couple of days ago. You can get some 10 or 12mm RWO rings from Purple Marine online which are load tested and up for the job. As Colin says, easier with a photo, but you'll need to; 1 run all the lines out and separate them in a park or open space, keep the bar the right wa...

Re: European Kiting Destinations with Family in-tow....

Looking forward to hearing more of these recommendations as I'm in the same boat as you :-D Very far from being European, but we went and stayed at La Palmeraie in Mauritius (direct flight from Heathrow) which is a 45min-1hr transfer from the airport. Uncrowded kiting lagoon right in front of the ho...

Re: Unpacked new kit - 5th line ?

Hey Nick Having flown the 2012 Neo in 4 line mode and personally riding 5 line C kites for years, I'd say try and get a 4 line bar for the Neo. Such a good beginner / intermediate kite that will literally roll over when leading edge down and wait at the edge of the window for you to pull on the uppe...

What's your favourite set up? (kite, bar + board)

Loving my set up so much at the moment and wondered what others are riding and enjoying too. Favourite size kite, bar & board in your quiver. Re: What year Naish Torch to avoid?

Hope it wasn't 2011, mine were great fun but I've moved on to Hadlow Pros now just to try something a bit different.

If 2011 wasn't considered the dud year (I'd be surprised if it was) then I've got a 9m and 12m up for sale in the for sale section if you're interested. PM me if you are.

Re: Sea breezes

During my Yachtmaster course years ago I learnt all about sea breezes, I should remember more but in essence it doesn't matter whether there's an onshore or offshore breeze forecast, it will typically blow towards land (therefore onshore in most cases). There needs to be a signifant difference in se...

Re: Good, easy to adjust foot-straps?

North NTTs all the way, come in S/M or L/XL so you may be inbetween the sizes in a size 9. So much adjustment and good with or without boots. Very grippy with boots on though, so you may want to have them a bit looser than usual if so. Best pads and straps I've used by far, so much adjustment for fo...

Re: How hard is the Hadlow to relaunch?

Love this thread... I'm about to get a set of Hadlow Pros and the more I read this thread the more I can't wait to get them! Not bothered about the relaunch, it sounds good enough to me and if you understand kite dynamics and have flown old 4 line C kites then it doesn't seem a problem. They were ac...

Re: footpads

North NTTs hands down.... Perfect fit no after what shape or size your foot and adjustable for either a locked in feeling or more open so you can twist your feet in them.
