Re: Where to holiday in November?

I forgot I posted this and have only just seen the replies, sorry..... Thanks though! We went to El Gouna in the end, had an absolute blast :) Stayed in the Ali Pasha hotel at Abu Tig marina and went to Element kite centre. Got really lucky with the wind, first afternoon it dropped off and then didn...

Where to holiday in November?

Ideas of where to head in November please? Where's good to take my girlfriend for a week? She wants to learn and I wouldn't mind a lesson or 2 for some tips.

Got some prices for El Gouna but open to other suggestions.

Main criteria is decent wind in the first half of November.

Cheers :)

Re: Kiteboard Demo - Blast Kiteboarding

Blast, would you by any chance have a set of latest Shinn Sneakers I could demo to go on my 2014 monk (bought from you last year)?

I find the white sneakers let my foot move around a fair bit and heard the new ones are better.

Cheers for the replies, I renewed it this year.

I hope I never have to test it out.

Might check out the hka one next year.

BKSA Membership/insurance

What's the current thinking on insurance? When I started out I got BKSA membership and kept it for a couple of years. I renewed it last year at some point but can't remember when or even if it's still valid, I've only just remembered about it. Is BKSA the way to go still or better off with someone e...

Re: Car Keys...

I think the above is correct, but would you say you left your keys in the car? Anyway, I think locking the keys in the car and using a skeleton key is a better solution to the padlock key store and the potential of having to pay out £200 for a new key from VW if your aquapac fails... and they do fa...

Re: Best vehicle for a kitesurfer

Any estate is ideal really if you're not looking at vans.

I've got a Jag X-Type and everything goes in the back no problem. It'll need replacing soon and I'd love to replace it with an A4 Quattro but will probably be settling for a Seat Exeo as you get so much more car for your money.

Re: Where to look for secondhand kites?

I've bought and sold on both eBay and Facebook group with absolutely no issues.

One sale on eBay the buyer came here and looked before handing over cash, the rest have been couriered.

Re: Stagnant 2nd Hand Market

Think the sport may have had its honeymoon period and now people really wear/use their kit out before they replace with either new , last year new or 2nd hand, bit like the kite mags with their new kit tested bollox its just changed colour from the year before people become wise to this , trouble i...

Re: Board Recommendations for the messy Troon chop?

Phil - loads of Monks at Troon and I have latest version you can try (John Barber). Currently in Tenerife and back midweek... right time for a 6m session in the sun. Cheers John, I might not be down too much over the next couple of weeks, but in the process of moving to Troon :) I'll keep an eye on...

Re: Board Recommendations for the messy Troon chop?

Shinn Monk keeps coming up when I look.

I don't even know where there is a shop up here, let alone one that I can demo from though? :(

Board Recommendations for the messy Troon chop?

I currently have an Underground FLX 135 x 41, I think 2009. In flat water it's great, but I find that I sometimes struggle to hold the edge when it gets a bit messy & choppy, like it does at Troon quite a lot. I usually manage until I'm really powered then I end up losing the edge and skipping acros...
