Re: New wetsuit - back zip or chest zip?

No problems with my C skins Wired 2010 summer and winter front zip suits. Once I got used to getting them on and off, no worse than a back zip, and never noticed too much flushing, and I get some right good rinsings in the waves. Mind you, I bought reduced price end of season 2012 C Skins Wired wint...

Re: Wave Kites

I have been using 2010 Ozone C4's solely in the waves, (5,7,9m) for past 2 yrs. They do a great job for wave riding if you don't want to go the solely wave kite route. As I am only interested in waves these days, I have just got a set of Reo's, 6, 8, 10. They are exactly as advertised - pure wave ki...

Re: What's the toughest strapless surfboard for kiting?

Nice looking board - If they had continued used Futures fin boxes I would be tempted. Just my personal taste, but I consider Futures a far better engineered design than FCS. The FCS Fusion box is an improvement, but the trailing edge of the fin can still puncture or damage the skin of the board if t...

Hiya noiseboy
All my surfboard blanks are from B&q 4" thk 8x4 epS insulation foam.. Difficult to explain, but I hotwire cut 5 or so pieces 4" wide same profile as stronger then stick together to make blank.

Re: sup paddle boards

I have had a SB Drive which is a nice all round board, but if you want to be more wave focused, dependant on your weight/size, (I am 5'7 and about 75kg) I would go for something a bit shorter, maybe 9 to 9'6", but still 30" wide. After getting used to the SUP, which really is quite easy compared wit...

Re: Go pro Hero 2

My Gopro 2 arrived yesterday, hoping to get some kind of footage this weekend. Looking like some waves here in Wales, but wind looking a bit scarse, so may need to be SUP footage. I am encouraged by Spooky's pics, look great. I have 2010 C4's and got the line mount. Not sure it will fit on my line s...

Re: Ear Plugs?

Thanks Timba, will give it a go. To be honest, I will try anything. I still have Irish sea water in my head after 4 weeks!
Trouble with all these additional appliances (ear/nose plugs, anti-elephant leg straps, etc) is remembering to fit them before launching kite.

Re: Ear Plugs?

Thanks Jay. Yep, tried a nose clip, slips off.
Tell your guy at work not to get his hopes up too much. I had endoscopic sinus surgery and my nose straightened last year. Hasn't helped a bit.

Re: Ear Plugs?

I use silicone ear plugs, buy them from any chemist for about £3 for 6 little squares. Bit like blue tack I guess. Hijacking the thread a bit........... What I need is something to stop water going up my nose. I keep getting nasty sinus infections. I spent my last week in Brandon Bay, Ireland unable...

Re: polyurthane tubing

Yep, It's Polyurethane (PU) they use, I have used it in the past to cover my throw line to stop it wearing and to stop it wearing a hole in my finger when riding toeside. It's commonly used for pneumatic piping, trouble you may have is getting the right size, and in small quantities. Most stuff over...

Re: Is there an ideal bodyweight for kitesurfing? I think so

I guess it does depend what you are into. I'm 5'7 and 75kg. Only into waves these days. I would like to be a bit lighter so I could use my 5 & 7m kites a bit earlier. 24knts ish for the 5 at my current weight. Nice to have a small kite which can generate just enough power by using it's speed, then m...

Re: Front entry wetsuits........

Never noticed much flushing with C Skins wired, only on real big wipeouts. I often find when taking the suit off, I am still totally dry.
Other advantages include no annoying bits of velcro to damage you suit, and you don't need to play 'hunt the zipper pull string' behind your back.
