Re: Isle of Wight.

Sorry I didn't see this, hope you found somewhere to ride, being an island there's always somewhere! I haven't ridden on the island for ages but always liked ryde on low tide, really nice skimming along in all of the lagoons.

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

BTW, do you guys know how hard it is to find the Shinn Website? It's not great for a business to be so under the radar, you have to know it's called shinnworld then follow a link from the facebook group? What?!?!?!

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

Cheers Mike, I will measure the board but I'm pretty sure its a 43, it was the reason I bought it way back then as it was one of the few that was a decent width. I wasn't looking at the Ronson as I thought it was a bit too freestyle oriented, I think I may have to find a shop with one to test (or pr...

Re: Shinn 2016 Thread- the new spring release boards

Hi guys, I'm in need of a new twin tip and I'm very interested in the Shinns, especially the new line up. I need something to replace my current board which is a Naish Thorn 135X43 (I think) which is from 2009, always liked it but it does have a few problems. One of which is the flex, little too muc...

Re: Slingshot turbo 2 bar and lines question

I think you will need the pulley system or it will be difficult to trim. I guess you could try it but I think it did rely on the extra throw that the pulleys provided.
It should be fairly easy to set up, I do have a bar with this set up if you need pictures / measurements.

Re: kite bars

Cabrinha 1X overdrive, pu covered (I won't entertain uncovered depower rope ever again), spring based stopper is awesome. THe depower is a pull pull above the bar, but it works well and I've had no issues with it. I hate under the bar cleat systems though as they tend not to work when overpowered, a...

Surfboard Fin Types

I was wondering if anyone has tried lots of different fin set ups for surfboards in different conditions? I now have a board with a 5 fin set up and I'm unsure how to set it up for different things. I guess the set ups I'm most interested in are Thruster, Quad, Quad with middle finger, and all 5 - W...

Re: The twitchers are at it again!

Well that's interesting, the report I read (some years ago) seemed to pull massive and wide ranging conclusions from very poor data. This was then (somehow) presented as scientific fact which is all a bit bizarre. I assumed that this paper had been buried may years ago but it still seems to hold som...

Re: North Kiteboarding Click Bar - The Gamechanger!

I agree that cleats can wear with time but they're very cheap and easy to replace comapared to all of the gubbins I imagine are necessary for this bar. They are not likely to jam either which is a likely outcome for a device like this in a salty sandy environment. I mean it looks nice though but it ...

Doesn't get round the problem of having to wear earphones, I would much prefer in helmet speakers like in a snowboard helmet. HAte having things in my ears.

Re: North Kiteboarding Click Bar - The Gamechanger!

Looks like a nice idea, very complicated way of doing something I don't use very often. Can't see it lasting as long as a simple webbing system though.

Re: Good winter gloves?

Yeah, ion claw for me too, every other glove I've tried ends up with arm pump. No problems with the ions as long as you're mindful of how hard you're holding the bar.

Re: Poole weather station

The site Poole Harbour weather is from someone's house on evening Hill, the data presented on the Poole yacht club site is from a buoy out in the harbour somewhere.
