what good used kite for someone coming back?

i'm totally out of touch with kitesurfing but am looking to buy a used kite as i'm fed up waiting for enough wind to windsurf. the last kites i had were 2010 ozone instict xc and an ocean rodeo mako 150. basically i like cruising around, nothing tricky or techy, and maybe a little play in the surf i...

Re: kite to learn on for a windsurfer

i was a windsurfer of some 30odd years. i could fly kites. i could surf. i thought kitesurfing would be so easy i'd get up and go straight away.

i was very, VERY, wrong!

Re: Windsurfing to Kitesurfing?

At 210lb am I too heavy for this sport? i've just started myself after 30odd years windsurfing and i'm heavier than you (and twice your age), so no. What would be a standard cost to get into a starter rig nowadays? i bought two good 09 kites, one new (with bar/lines) and one used. new impact vest/h...

Re: POLL... DO YOU HAVE KITE SURFING INSURANCE?

The BPKA is cheaper than bksa and they send you a reminder before it expires
crikey, the bkpa should take a look at their marketing. i joined the bksa just for the insurance and had never heard of the bkpa until i read this thread and for sure the 15quid option would've swayed me.

mystic clickerbar difficult to open?

just wondering if its normal for a mystic clickerbar to be virtually impossible to unclick? bought a new harness a few weeks ago and from the outset was surprised at how difficult it was to open. used it twice and the last time i had to pull the harness off as i could'nt open it - and i'm no 4 stone...

Re: Oneil split toe wetsuit boots

interesting post. i'm really fussy about boots as i hate the things and have tried many over the years ins earch of my ideal. about 3 yrs ago i bought some o'neill psychofreaks, absolutely amazing things. ver warm, minimal on the foot and very tough. the only reason i had to replace them was that i ...

Re: Surfboard size?

whats the difference between a thruster and a fish ? a thruster is a fin system developed by simon anderson (the basics being 3 similar sized fins) whereas a fish, in its classic sense, is a wider, fuller nosed, swallow tailed board with two keel fins. but a 'fish' has become a broad term to descri...

Re: Surfers Against Sewage

not just sewage well thats not strictly true is it? there's a whole bunch of stuff in your own backyard that would devastate local flora/fauna both on beaches and rivers flowing onto said beaches that you don't have any interest in at all - unless of course the cameras are rolling and you can get s...
