Re: Kite Road trips around europe?

If kiting is a priority over site seeing then my advise would be to pick a couple of places that are known for good condition and just stay a couple of weeks in each. I´ve been living in a camper for 3 years and started out driving about from spot to spot following the kite and windsurf guide to Eur...

Re: 08 waroo 07bars

I find the A-A setting best for beginners because it gives a really light bar pressure and maximum depower. One other thing to watch is which knot you use on the pigtails. It´s tempting to use a really depowered setting for a beginner (last couple of knots) but then you find that when the bar is pus...

2009 Fuels availability

Anyone know when there will be some 09 Fuels available in the UK? Tarifa prices are 1200 Euros for a 9m which at the current exchange rate is 1200 GBP.
Thanks.

Re: RET for tiree

It kicks in sometime in the middle of October when CalMac go over to the winter timetable (I think it's the day after the Wave Classic finishes). A return for a car should go down to about £80.

Re: Board leashes

If you're going to use a leash it's the best one to get. Wouldn't recommend using ANY leash in strong winds as you are obviously aware but the reel style leashes are definitely safer than a fixed or surfboard style one. I've got one you can have for £10 if you can collect or meet me at Worthing / Sh...

Re: definatley a kitemare day

Although it's tempting to use car seat belt as a replacement (fits perfectly), don't do it. It doesn't grip in the buckle. Trust me, I found out with a second long swim when the same thing happend on my 04 pyro. BTW, it's well documented in the paragliding world that when webbing shows any signs of ...

Shoreham tomorrow (Early for the LT)

Anybody going to brave the rain and get to Shoreham early for the low tide? I'm thinking about going out about 9:30am but don't want to find myself on the beach with nobody else about (as happend earlier in the week !)

Where can I demo a Fuel on the South Coast near Worthing?

Having learnt on C's and spent the last 3 years on Bows, I am thinking about mixing things up and using C's when the conditions are good for it and keeping the bows for gusty wind and big waves etc. Anyway, having not used a C kite for years I would like to try the new ones before committing. Fuels ...

Re: Tarifa in Oct-Nov??

If you come to Tarifa you need transport really because when the Levante blows it´s off shore and very strong and gusty at Tarifa. With a car you can get to some other places that are much better. Sometimes it´s perfect for weeks on end but it is possible to go for 3 weeks without good wind but that...

Re: Tarifa in April

Definitely a winter wetsuit, not a shortie. I wear a 4-3 all winter with a fleecy rash vest thingy underneath for the really cold days. Water is still quite cold in April so you would be OK for a quick session in a shortie but probably not for a long time.

It´s not too cold for sunbathing if you get out of the wind. Trust me I´m looking like a lobster after 5 hours kiting today ! You can kite anywhere on Tarifa beach at this time of year if the wind is SW (Poniente). If the wind is NE (Levante) then you have to go to the sand dune at the far end of th...
