Re: follow the leader quad copter

Those are adverts for a product that doesn't currently exist, in case you are interested in giving/investing~ish? money to them to develop the products. It looks to me that a lot of the footage is not like what you would actually get. It would be following you around, so all the footage would be fro...

Re: Lancing Water Quality - Unfit for swimming

The new standards for 2015. They are described as being about twice as tight as 2014. http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:32006L0007&from=EN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; In 2015 water will be rated as Excellent quality if there are 1000 or less Intestinal ...

Re: Shinn's 2014 thread - news, reviews and info

Shinnster looks like a very interesting board and will no doubt be very popular. Will be interesting to hear peoples feedback on lightwind performance and ease of use. This is a review of the Boardriding Maui Paipo, which is the board Mark was so impressed with that he made the Shinnster a copy of ...

Re: Shinn's 2014 thread - news, reviews and info

Looks nice in the video. Size-wise, 46 cm is about 1/2" wider than the dimension listed for the BRM Paipo and the 160 is exactly the same length. I assume there are no inserts. Is there any deck pad or recommendation for one? Its not something I am drawn to at the moment, but strapless light wind fu...

Re: kites and breeding birds

What I have been told is that birds do not like the kite to be upwind of them. I have observed lots of geese sitting on a patch of water fly 300 to 400m upwind and settle on the water when a kite went into the air near them. When the kite was landed, all the birds were back on their original spot on...

Mike, out of interest, how much rocker does the Speedball has and does it start where the winglets are? Since it seems that they have only changed the outline as there is no mention of changing the rocker, this picture gives a good idea of the rocker. http://www.seabreeze.com.au/img/photos/kitesurf...

Everything but the Shinnster.

An impressive video shoot for the Turbo, but the Red looked very good (settled) carving.

Re: Shinn's 2014 thread - news, reviews and info

That's a clever change to the Speedball.

On page 7 you said the W20 Speedball was 128 by 50.8.

On page 8 you said the length was the same as the V1, which was 132cm, so which is correct?

Re: Shinn's 2014 thread - news, reviews and info

Interesting Turbo. Can you explain what exactly you mean by drive Mike? I associate it with an efficient edge that takes you upwind well and holds grip - maybe stiff and straighter edges that bite hard into the water. The gist of what I'm getting is that it needs less power to perform, is stiffer in...

Re: Shinn's 2014 thread - news, reviews and info

Thanks Mike B, Sounds good and was written in a way that a windsurfer interested in kiting can understand. Its all about time on the water and having a board they can throw in the back of the car or van. A W20 (50 cm wide?) Speedball with what looks like more wave oriented tips? - sounds like its go...

Re: Shinn's 2014 thread - news, reviews and info

Mike B A few of my windsurf friends have been asking about kitesurfing in light winds and my recommendations have been to get lessons then a big kite and a big twintip. So far I have used the Nobile XTR 143 by 48 which was an excellent light wind kite and very suitable for a beginner. There are no t...
