Re: New Shinn boards

Someone from Belgium posted that photo of the boards. It's surprising that there doesn't seem to be an official launch taking place at the same time.

The Speedballs? look a bit more rounded in the tips?

They look like an interesting set of boards.

Re: Any BEST experts Chicken loop question

I figured on doing the corrective work myself, what with the hassle of posting the item all the way back to the UK. Think I did post up the subject when it happened so as to warn others. It would be quite a difficult fault to spot, on generally inspecting the kit. I bought a 2010 Redline bar when t...

Re: Any BEST experts Chicken loop question

what caused the break? I had a break on a brand new chicken loop, well it had done a few hours that was all. The SS ball on the end that locks into the release had a sharp edge right between the two holes of the ball. Definitely an oversight of the manufacturers. I managed to smooth the edge down a...

Re: Holiday Insurance for Kitesurfers

https://www.sportscoverdirect.com/ Single insurance covers me for kitesurfing as well as a range of other sports such as climbing and off piste-skiing. Have used them for the last couple of years. I have used them for years for kitesurf insurance and travel insurance. Haven't had to claim yet but t...

Re: Bar length

I had a look but the distance in the length between the cleat and chicken loop cannot be altered so I am unable to get the bar closer. Thanks for the help Hi Ely, I think you have thrown a few people off track by talking about getting the bar closer. What you really want is to get the cleat closer?...

Re: Kiteracing

It might work better to start with figure 8 slalom like this? That way you get speed and gybing practice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn5DqucKI28" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Start off with long legs to avoid tangles and as the riders get better, shorten them. Then make it more ...

Re: playing in the sand- time for a key pod

I used the non-electric key, real key in the van until my insurers pointed out that if I left a key in the van it nullified my insurance.

I now use an Aquapac. Has worked so far for years.

Re: How much does 3 kites and board weigh?

I think you might struggle. Allow an extra 3-5kg too on what you crudely weigh, and what the check-in scales weigh. Jesus 3-5kg, how bad are you at weighing stuff? One thing to note is that if you put a suitcase on a set of bathroom scales and have to stop it falling off, that sideways pressu...

Some more footage. Len10 seems to be trying to do something similar for Red Bull as a one man operation?

Re: BOARD BAG USING

What I tend to do. Tape pipe insulation around edge of board and take the fins off. Sometimes take off straps if I need to pack neater. Put big towel in bag. Put wetsuit on towel with zip underneath. Put board on wetsuit and wrap edges of towel over edges of board. Its best to make sure the board is...

Re: Kiteboard speed record

Ok so Why a traditonal board shape then ... maybe you could have a board similarly shaped to the sailrockets hull ? Sailrocket is huge and cost millions but basically it is like a huge windsurf sail pulling on a foil. The hull is just there for structure and to provide 3 skids to skim across the wa...

Re: Kiteboard speed record

[Seems to depend on how you use it. Sailrocket has gone over 68 knots by pulling on the foil instead of pushing That's what I was thinking, the tech we are missing.. We'll see a lot more foil development in the next 5 years I am sure From what i see our biggest problem is we only use one foil and i...
