Re: Kiteboard speed record

Foils arnt good for speed yet the fastest peek speed iv heard of is only 32 knots and that was by the current fastest kitesurfer. But they recon in in 5-7 knots they are well over 20 knots board speed Seems to depend on how you use it. Sailrocket has gone over 68 knots by pulling on the foil instea...

Re: Kiteboard speed record

That's a coincidence, James and I were talking with the innovator behind that system at Weymouth speed week this year, he is an old boy called Slade and turns up every year with his retired buddies and takes to the water in all kind of odd craft. Although most of his ideas seem non starters he did ...

Re: Kiteboard speed record

Currently it is about 45 degrees, but it depends on the efficiency. Sailrocket sails at over 2x the windspeed and will be sailing more across the wind. The future lies in getting more speed from less wind. I think the future of kite speed is hinted at in this film. It just seems that kites actually ...

Re: Kiteboard speed record

This Aguera speed board looks more of a simple shape. Damien Leroy has a max of 51.99 knots on it.

Re: front entry wetsuits

What about a tip for getting boots off, I really struggle to get good boots off. Cheap boots are easy. Worst-case are the best boots I ever had, Xcel. I can't remember what thickness they are but they are so well tailored that they glue themselves to my feet even though I use a shoehorn to release ...

From their baby product range this works very well on boots and wetsuits.

Re: My invention; Good/Bad or should i be locked up?

If its so cheap that people will buy it as a backup to their existing system to be used only in certain circumstances where they have figured out that it would be best to use it instead, and you can get to it when you are being dragged underwater at speed and the battery lasts forever and the signal...

Re: Has Windsurfing lost its mojo to kitesurfing

What I can say is that I am really loving trying to get to grips with a new water sport which can be inspirational, at least when watching videos of wave kiters like Ben Wilson. Is windsuring dead? No, I think not. Just have a look at the latest Red Bull videos. Or Cloudbreak http://www.youtube.com...

Re: Coaching suggestions from you

Pack down and swimming with your gear. Its a good thing to know what you are capable of. If you decide to try to rescue the kite and board, sometimes you might lose the chance to get yourself back to shore. Looking after gear and repair. If you have a suitable place, maybe have a winch available to ...

A few minutes after Steph Bridge clinched the women's European Kite Course Racing Championship, 15 year old son Oliver won the men's division (and the U21's & the U18's) First Men's title for one of the Bridgelets - probably not the last. https://www.facebook.com/edgewatersports" onclick="window.ope...

Re: Where can I find a Cab Crossbow 2009 Pulley Upgrade Kit?

I have a couple of 2009 Cab Xbows and had a pulley break on one of them. I saw here that they only replaced the individual pulley that broke, but there was rust on a number of my pulleys. http://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Kitesurfing/General/09-cabrinha-pulley-failures/" onclick="window.open(this.h...
