Re: Monster squall at Camber today!

It really could have been mate. Feel very humbled by it yet its 1245am and I'm still buzzing from it and how mad the whole event was I'm just truly thankful there was no bad accidents. After seeing what happened to ? and his super man I was so relieved to see him walking away with just a bad sand ra...

Re: Rhino on a regular 5 line bar?

Well I think North use the same bar for all their kites so yes you should be able to use your airush bar but it might need a little mod here or there to tweak it just right. No Y split should fine also as I used my 06 12m and 16m Rhinos on a 4 line bar with no Y split for a long time. Then modded th...

Re: Trainer Kite or Lessons to start??

Lessons cant be beat and as said some places even throw in a free trainer kite. Now I'm sure I will get flamed for this but, if you go for a trainer get a 4 line 3m'ish power kite like a Flexi Rage, HQ Beamer, Peter Lynn Twister and use it with 4 line handles not a bar! But dont go out in winds that...

Re: Camber wind as reported on Windguru Pro

Also if you own a wind meter please dont be one of those who stand at the top of the bank at camber holding it up getting a reading up to 15-20mph/kts more than at the bottom of the bank. Heard it before when had 35knts reading. The bloke went on 9m came back after 5minutes saying 'it's too much'. ...

Re: Camber wind as reported on Windguru Pro

Yep you can rest assured you can read the forecasts and the live wind feeds and it will always 5-10 either side of what is displayed on your screen. Ive been looking at my phone and seeing 18's in the channel and fag smoke rising at the top of the bank!?! Also if you own a wind meter please dont be ...

Re: How to add a 5th line to a 4-line bar?

Run the 5th through your bar as you said and then fit a stainless steel ring to the end and then use a safety leash to connect to the 5th line. I have never brought a full bar and line set in 4 years of flying LEI's. I just buy a blank bar (free-£40) and use the parts I like from other bars. Takoon ...

Re: Finaly got my Ion4, but!

Yep its a factory fit from the first batch onwards. But why Flexi couldn't just use a longer piece of Amsteel is beyond me! Im sure the bridle line extension is more than upto the job but you see a nice 5mm Amsteel pigtail that joins a 3mm line to a 5mm Amsteel pigtail. It was 9m winds at Camber tod...

Finaly got my Ion4, but!

I finaly got my Ion4 but I cant figure out why it has some bridle line extensions on the front line connections. Now dont get sarcastic and say "Well its a SLE so what did you expect!" I know! I mean where the wake/freestyle attachment point are there is a 20ishcm bridle line extension that connects...

Re: Lost in first time kite choice

Im with bovaboy, I wont recommend a kite as I dont know enough about different kites, Ive only flown the kites Ive owned X4's and Rhino's :-D But although you will get the most use out of the 9m in the coming months, there will still be lots of days when you wished you had a bigger kite. Trust me yo...

Re: Line lengths

Surely the shorter the lines the more power the kite will generate due to it moving quicker through the air.

I run my 9m C on 30m lines to slow it down a little, it also gives a more floaty jump due to the kite having a bigger window to move in.

Re: What do the different connections at the kite tips do?

Hi mate, my old Naish X4 had the same four connection points. At the front of the kite: Forward centerline connection point: gives the most wind range, increased sheetability, best for over powered conditions. Rear centerline connection point: Less bar pressure to turn, more power to the harness, be...
