Re: Ride Engine harnesses - any problems?

Yep. Plenty of similar concepts out there (Brunotti, Da Kine). Worth trying a few on to find the one that fits best for YOU.

I like the smaller look of the 2017 RE though. I'm a fan of the lower profile harness.

Re: Tenerife El Medano

In case anyone is searching for the same questions I now have the answers Take a thin wetsuit. Forecast changes a great deal (as per UK) so long range is unreliable - although it did identify the do-able sessions for twin tip/surfboard riding. For the time I was monitoring it, very little wind (mayb...

Re: Lost Kite, Lines & Harness!!

Been quite a few people complaining (on forums) that the Ride Engine buckles slip if not doubled back on themselves. Haven't heard of anyone having it totally fail/slip through.

The normal fix is to double back the straps after adjusting to size. Have seen a few people using zip ties to help.

Tenerife El Medano

I'm off to Tenerife at the beginning of December. Its not strictly a kitesurfing holiday so I have attempted to stack the odds in my favour by hiring a villa close to the beach. - I'm still in my 3/2 wettie at present (balmy south coast weather mind you). Should I need a wetsuit? Or would rash vest ...

Re: This Forum... what's happened? It's like no ones home. Also the Core GTS4 any good?

Jesus that sounds bloody awfully painful, the thing that's not going in my favour is me getting on a bit I think, I've ridden bikes all my life, but probably not as much out of balance with everything else. I've only got out kiting half a dozen times lately and windsurfing is now on the back burner...

Re: Hybrid kiteharness?

I have (although have stopped using) the North Airstyler. Its perfectly adequate. I think the leg straps are now an optional extra instead of coming with the harness. The air bladder does give slightly more buoyancy than normal. Its also somewhat narrower cut than most which would probably suit smal...

Not a lot wind this week so maybe it will get busier.

I think we are all waiting for the start of Tone's new competition :-)

Tell me more about the GTS4. What do you like? What can you compare it to?

Re: Best kite to learn to foil on...

When learning to foil you are going to want to be going out in 13-19knots of wind. Unless you have epic light wind skills, its not an effective use of your time to go out when the wind is really light (unless swimming training is part of your fitness plan). Think back to when you learned to kiteboar...

Re: 2011 Kahoona 9m upgrade guidance please - Evo 9m worth the cost?

Focusing on the bar. No. The North bar won't be plug and play with your Kahoonas (unless you buy the £600 clickbar) as North use a high Y split point. It will work to an extent but you will most likely see a reduced wind range (worse low end and reduced sheeting range). Secondly, the last 3 years No...

Re: Car Keys...

The Aquapacs are pretty good. You only ever hear about problems where it hasn't been properly sealed (usually when you are in a rush to get out). I use an extra waterproof ziplock back inside the aquapac. The only thing you might need to be careful of is not pushing the buttons when you are out. A l...
