Re: FLYSURFER CRONIX - First LEI from FS

1 dive and upturn to start and 1 view of the kite changing direction overhead!.....not really showing what the kite can do??...........I do think that the rest of vid showing design aspects of the kite is good ......if I spoke German even better I'm sure  This isn't a dig at fly surfer, it ...

Re: FLYSURFER CRONIX - First LEI from FS

Nice flashy vid, but why does it not show much of the super new kite??......most shots you do get the kite the kite is just flying in a straight line.....does it turn like the speed

Re: Self-Launch Goes Wrong - A Lesson Learned.

1. Because my kites will not launch like that 2. Not many people have a nice soft grassy area 3. It's can damage/wear the kite 4. Self landing is safer the tethered way 5. You are unable to fully check the kite lines/bridles before launching 6. You need a lot more room Do you need any more reasons?...

Re: Well done....NOT

Over the last 20 years they have sent a land rover out 3 times for me after calls from the public, first 2 times they arrived as I made the beach, both times broken kit. 3rd time after informing them I was going to get a lost kite off a mud flat, they still responded to a call from public, and even ...

Re: Micro Loop or Stopper ball for Flexifoil Atom?

If your going to add a fixed stopper, you can always just re-tie the cl shorter and add extra knots to the back pigtails on the kite to shorten by same amount. You will have less depower though if you add fixed stopper or shorten cl. I flew my ions on a modded bar that had a shorter throw but longer...

Meant to add (can't seem to edit posts?) Best stretch these soft lines BEFORE you use them!

Re: Airush 2013 - the new thread...

Best add, that I'm referring to good quality tightly braided lines, if you have cheap loose braided, soft type lines then yep these can stretch as the braid tightens up on the fronts.

Re: Airush 2013 - the new thread...

I'm in the rear lines shrink camp, as they have less tension ;-) This causes the braid to open up a bit over time and they become shorter. Front lines are regularly stretched whilst sailing so don't shrink as much. If you have short rear lines try fixing them one at a time to a solid object one end,...

Re: Looks a Bit.....

Saturday was good down here (bristol channel), But decided local beach too dodgy on Sunday! Blowing 20-40+ and needing to launch 40m from sea wall and land 2 m away, huge spring tides :-( It was hard to turn away but I think best option, at least I lived to have a good session Monday  Si. Re: Flexifoil force 11m

I take it that is with the bar pulled fully in against chicken loop and depower strap fully powered?......like in the 2nd vid. Like this the lines should be equal. If the lines are new, the fronts will stretch more than the back lines so this will even out over a few sessions. Sounds like u need to ...

Re: Flexifoil force 11m

I had early ions from flexi, these all tended to backstall if you didn't sheet out on the upstroke, your kite may be similar. Because of this flexi then sold the kites with over-long back pigtails.......some people tied extra knots in these to give more power/steering at the bar. If you fly the kite...

Re: Flexifoil force 11m

Why don't you check them??

I don't understand how people can do this dangerous sport, yet not understand the very basics about kite setup!

Just search checking line lengths, I'm sure your find the info you should know ;-)

Re: Spool of Dyneema kiteline

The core is straight fibers so no stretch!....and you can knot the ends instead of sewing. I wouldn't say its any thinner than normal line.
