Re: Coming soon to a beach near you...

Never had an airblast (still have an Aero if anyone wants it ) remember they were beasts!!

Size I think was projected... .so that 11.8m is actually around 16m today's sizing.

Re: I think I need a new bar and lines what do you think to

Maybe just upgrade your lines if your bars OK?
I just picked up a set of ozones from a shop closing down sale, got the 5 line set, gives a spare line, for only £49 delivered, this was the expensive set with the upgraded fronts.

Cheers

Re: DIY Speedboard info

Cheers guys, not had a chance to finish it yet, but thanks for advice. The edge is straight for most of its length, first photo is how it looks. Last photo is illusion due to rocker! Tempted to stick on a bit of resin, straps and try it before spending time finishing properly in case its a dog! chee...

Re: Sorting out stretched lines

Mate, lines are woven then pre- stretched which tightens the weave. If you apply more force than this initial stretching, the weave will tighten more..... so lines can stretch! Stearing lines have less tension so will tend to shrink, length wise, as the weave loosens. I don't think the actual fibers...

Re: DIY Speedboard info

Great info guys! Inspired by your posts I had a hunt in the garden for an old ply board the kids use, Used ;-) , as a sledge. It was a light wind ply foam sandwhich I made years ago as a first attempt at homemade! Out with the jigsaw :-) http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr108/si-fly/IMG_20120812_1...

Re: non branded kite lines?

Haven't seen the rrd lines, but the pro stuff I bought years ago, is very different to all lines I've seen. Its very wear resistant, and when you tension it it gets stiff.. .strange stuff. http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr108/si-fly/IMG_20120818_090039.jpg Its also perfectly round in profile. ht...

Re: Boards Like North Jaime Pro 2010

I'm 92kg and have a blankforce carbon 132, great in chop, small waves, no spray and good in light winds. I sail the Bristol channel and its great for Weston, brean conditions. Blast is near you and I think have demo boards. Also for a full carbon board there much cheaper than the big brands ;-) chee...

Re: Group buying

Recently used an online group buy site, which worked well and was cheaper than eBay! They ask you to tell them what goods you want and they say if enough interest they will try and source them for a group buy. Might be worth contacting them for some more info? The site I think was called. Mymatemark...

Re: non branded kite lines?

I bought some real cheap lines about 5 years ago (£20 4 line set) these had sleeving but no loops. Loops tied with figure 8 knots and stretched. Lines still fine today, unlike flexi, liquid force, eclispe lines I've had which last months if you do lots of rotations! Thicker lines do last much longer...
