Re: Latest kites

So what year are your Waroos? 08/09 I would guess. Kites have gotten more refined but I would say that they have been evolutionary rather than revolutionary steps. You've missed the rise and (slight) fall in Delta shaped kites which give a real good steady low end pull and super easy relaunch at the...

Re: North Vegas 2015

I have a had short session one, it is pretty different from the older 2014/13's kites. Tips are huge now, I did have it on the wake style bar so difficult to really compare but it did feel slower, I did a couple of backloop kite loops on it and it drives through loop much harder. Feels like it has ...

Re: Know any where that sells kite glue in small tubes??

buy a normal size tube of Stormsure and keep it in the freezer once opened. Works like magic! it defrosts in a couple of minutes and lasts until the tube is finished or you forget to put it back in the freezer.... I found writing on the tube "KEEP ME IN THE FREEZER YOU BLOODY IDIOT" worked pretty we...

Re: Cornish spots that work at High Tide?

Thanks for the replies - we ended up going to Watergate early on Saturday and had an epic session in some pretty monster surf, and then a very mellow session at Daymer in the afternoon over high tide. There was no wind this morning but some nice clean surf to be had in Newquay - top weekend :)

Cornish spots that work at High Tide?

Hi, I'm heading down to Cornwall this weekend & if the wind decides to play ball I'd really like to know if there are any spots which are doable at high tide. We're going to be based near Watergate so that's choice number one for Friday afternoon until it gets dark, but with the high tides being aro...

Re: Big changes in the industry..

I have always got the impression there has been a big chnage in kite sales since the 2008/2009 crisis. Before that I was always meeting people (even total beginners) on the beach who had just purchased a new quiver of 3 kites on their credit card. These days people seem to be keeping their kites lo...

BBR started stocking Naish last year. If they don't have them in stock they should be able to order one in

Agree with Tom. At 95kg, a 135x41 board and 5.5m kite should still be well controllable in 50 knot gusts..... Or are you thinking of windier days than that?

Re: need a bit of line

Any particular reason why a loop couldn't be tied into the line? Would be a lot easier :-)

Re: Patagonia R3 Experiences?

Rich - no idea exactly what models they stock but Shore Warersports in East Wittering stock Patagonia suits. I've wondered the same but found a flash bomb at a price I couldn't refuse last year and have been super impressed with it so far. Admittedly it's only done one year but still looks as new (I...

Re: Power of Old vs New Kites

I've often wondered this as my kites are all 2007-2010. Also, which I'm not sure about, the fabric becomes porous to the air which can affect power. I think it would take one hell of a lot of pin pricks to make that happen :-) I'm pretty sure that the fabric can degrade over the years through UV ex...

Re: 12m/9m vs. 12m/10m kite quivers

I have to agree with Matt on this one, but also ability and style play a part too. On 2014 Lithiums the 10m and 12m are far to close together imo, 9m and 12m would be ideal. I agree, but a lot also comes down to the type of kite; 12m lithium has a lot of grunt and at the opposite end of the scale t...

Re: Beginner board

Frankly that's bollocks.... At 70kg your board is absolutely fine. I'm 73kg and my first board in 2008 was 130 x 39 & I now ride a 130 x 40. You need to use better technique with a smaller board, but your x-ride is perfectly useable, and will do you better in the medium to long term than a larger Go...
