Who said John Delorean stainless steel!! you worked on one! yeah the skin is stainless the chassis is not! and if you get salt on the stainless it still marks it.. horrid cars! takes hours to get them brush finished.. ( sanding etc etc )

Ok if you want to get really pedantic SS over grp with a steel chassis.
Finishing SS is easy with the right kit, as for salt water marking SS, I guess working iin the marine and engineering industry for far too many years, I might just know a little bit about that

Still horrid cars 8) I know your meant to like them because of a film but I have driven a few and it's just not there for me. But classic cars are about personal taste. For me I am sure I would be quite surprised if some one didn't like one of my classic cars. The whole JD thing and Maggy back in the day was one hell of a story.. I even bought one in 2001 for the huge sum of $4000 in Fresno Ca. Sold it for £6000 in the UK so it's kicking about some where still looking at DVLA road tax records. Still horrid though

Why not just choose whichever car you want and invest a cpl hundred quid on a set of roof bars and a roof box?

Keeps the sand n shite out of the car, easy to take off and hose down occasionally. The Thule boxes can be put on n taken off in minutes with the quick lock system thingy.

Porsche Cayman S, with the proviso that you have no friends.

2 kites in the front boot
2 boards on the passenger seat
1 board and everything else in the back

All that money and you still have to get dressed standing outside in a carpark in the freezing cold like a pikey....

Choose your top 3. Find them on auto trader. Turn up for a test drive with all your kit and see how it goes. I got rid of my t4 van for a car...I'm now back with a t5. Never once have I wondered if it would all fit....I did wonder why I brought a car to replace the first one....

Any estate is ideal really if you're not looking at vans.

I've got a Jag X-Type and everything goes in the back no problem. It'll need replacing soon and I'd love to replace it with an A4 Quattro but will probably be settling for a Seat Exeo as you get so much more car for your money.

Dude, I've got three kids and believe - there's no Estate on SUV that will make you comfortable with all your gear and the gang. I've tried loads and even with XC90 I still need a roof rack for the bikes etc. - way too much hassle. I'm selling it soon and getting T5 ideally in some LWB - no more changing in 0C next winter too ;)

Haha internet therapy right there. Hey 2014 post. I got a t5!!

Fiat Doblo window van, wife absolutely hates it and refuses to go in it, young lads laugh at me in it but cost me £1000 3 years ago, never broken down, great fuel economy, air con and I can stand up in the back to get changed (just about).

Changing the Cayman S for a Cayman GT4 soon. Might have to think about getting something a bit more sensible to go with the GT4.
