Huge Huge thankyou to all who came to Walney this weekend and made a great event into an epic event. Well done to all the competitors - we had a lot of first timers competing which is absolutely great.

Some of the locals living on the front have been asking if you are all coming back next week!!!!!! they enjoyed it so much too. A huge thankyou from them (and us) for all looking after our beach, much appreciated.

Brilliant to have the land-boarding and buggying here - what a show of skills - hope you all come back too.
Plenty of wind today still here, and the beach has been completely empty -

The commentory and music was great - it certainly added alot of needed information for our non-kitesurfers and definately added atmosphere. Hope the BKSA do this at every event.

Looking forward to seeing Tony's photos.

See you all at hunny

I reckon you were right in there amongst it all Tony, Howard from Vestas mentioned how good it would be for them to have shots with the turbines in the background if that helps your picture choice for them.

Yer, agreed, a brilliant event. I had a great session on every day (rode like a lemon in my first heat tho :-) )

Barrow is a great spot for an event... if we were to have premier events, this should be one of them!

I got some photos with the turbines in the background during the evening session on the Friday... No great action shots and a bit grainy on 400ISO but if someone wants copies, just get in touch.

See ya all at Hunny!

It's been a busy week since I got back from the Barrow event on Sunday night, so now it's time I got some words and pics on the forum

I arrived around 9 ish on Thursday evening, parked up and introduced myself to those who I hadn't met before. Thursday evening was nice, very mellow, a few took advantage of the kiteboarder.co.uk hospitality beers, but most were taking it easy in preperation for the pro event on Friday.

Friday morning saw some wind, enough to kick off the comp' and as the day progressed it continued to build giving great conditions for both the pro men and women
