Pete is my hero - he could hardly walk yet still went out and blew the rest of us old farts off the water!!! Hannah was crocked too - sitting there with 2 cans of cold redbull on her ankle desperately trying to reduce the swelling before her heat started. What a family! - unbelievably talented and totally indestructable
So many people to thank - I don't even know where to start.
Top of the list has got to be Tony Devenish - the coolest Sports Development Officer in the UK, Lifestyles chairman and Rebelation lead singer 8) Not far behind - Stuart Moore, commodore of Hunstanton Sailing Club - always smiling and totally impossible to fluster. Huuuge thanks to Tony Shepherd - admirable standard of binge drinking yet still able to stand all day up to his ankles in the water shooting thousands of pics
I was so impressed with Lewis dealing with the media - he's a true pro and a perfect gent - even when the old dear from Radio Norfolk was flirting with him, kept forgetting his name and asking 'so are you any good at this sport then?'
I couldn't believe the standard this year - the mens ams was jaw-dropping. In the pros - some of Ali's kiteloops were frightening and I have to say Sam, Lewis (and I'd say Ned Taylor) were simply world class.
I've got over 16hrs of videotape to trawl through now
but I'll try and get something together asap (I'm no Andy Gordon tho - so don't expect too much!!!)
Like last year a lot of the riders are staying over this week prior to the Skeg event - it was like a scene from Glastonbury in the marquee sunday night
I'm off with TonyD to interview the head sponsor this morning then I can feel a tasty brancaster sesh coming on this afternoon
