Just phoned 2 campsites nearby......no tents and no availability for anything else.
Is it going to be okay for the campers to pitch a tent.......any grass area?
Is there any showers?

Most of the BKSA poeple will be heading North for the wave event, so info may be a bit slow getting through, but as they probably don't know the area that well, you'll be best waiting for someone with local knowledge to get more info.

Frazy main beach has a campsite with statics but they allow tents and campers/vans for about £8 per night, I stayed there a couple of months ago, showers are good and it's right on the front overlooking the main beach with cafe, large car park etc. Head in towards a roundabout by tesco or asda then head east for a couple of hundred metres. Google should be a good map source.

Yes a postcode would be great because I have phoned the tourist information and they reckon most of the "sites" are for van owners only so no tourers and no tents!
They also said they have no information on any other campsites nearby?!
I also asked if they have "any" information with regards to the kite comp and overnight staying and they said it is a definite NO to tents?
HELP.....

Sorry guys  I made the mistake of reading the post before mine without looking at the whole thread, I thought it was Fraserburgh people were having a job finding somewhere to camp. I'll get my coat.

Redcar is really not good place for camping. Depending on where the van parking is going to be, then it may be poss to stick a popup up on the tarmac between vans but I'd advise B&Bs (they cheap and right next to beach) for those not in vans like.

When we've held events there before we've always had to use campsites like 20mins drive away.
There's a really nice one at Great Ayton but too far away from beach IMO.

Look forward to seeing everyone. Bring your wooly jumpers !!!

You must be going soft simon, remeber years gone by, -3 and you would be out.

Camping wise, no tents local to beach.

Could ask redcar rugby club(5mins drive), they do loads of stuff with caravan club. Provide water and have a club house.
Might be worth a call, but rugby season has started.

Hope wind shows up :-D

Anyone know if we are fixed at the one beach location or can we make use of the other Redcar spots?

Looks like westerlies for Thurs but swinging to off shores for the weekend. Does it look like it would be possible to run on off shores without being too gusty?
