The last two weekends which were on the original list of dates would have both produced good events - one in the west and one in the east... Perfect! Just exactly the point of having it set up the way it was...

Instead theyve chosen a fixed date/venue which doesnt have particularly favorable wave stats at a time when some of the main competitors cannot compete!

Dont get it???????????????

Whoah...ego alert!!!
Alas greenroom... it's an ego well earned :-), fortunately for the comp Will and hopefully Lee will turn up and put on a bit of a show, providing of course that fraserburgh puts on a show so that their obvious talents can be realised.

Anyway it's happening, it's in Fraserburgh and it should be epic...... how thick should my wetsuit be? and should I bring gloves and boots??

Ha, ha, just having a bit of sport!! Seriously though I hope we get some decent waves and a good turnout. I'm probably going to head to Thurso this weekend for some wind and waves so if anyone is keen for a kite sesh just drop us a PM as I know some good spots.

As for a wetsuit, I'm wearing a 4/3 with no boots or gloves and it's fine. Temp is starting to dip though.

Long range forecast is looking promising. From the met office:
UK Outlook for Saturday 26 Sep 2009 to Monday 5 Oct 2009:

The high pressure that brought a good deal of settled weather to the UK looks like declining through the weekend with the weather becoming more unsettled across northern and western parts. But for many the weekend looks like remaining dry with some pleasant sunshine, though could be chilly by night with some fog patches. This unsettled weather is expected to spread to all but the extreme south by Monday. This bringing outbreaks of rain and noticeably colder conditions, especially so the in strong northwesterly wind. The unsettled weather looks like being maintained across the north, whereas some parts of the south could well stay generally dry through this period. Temperature wise, overall near normal, though parts of the north especially, could be rather cool at times.

Just got back from the pub and thought id have a look on kiteboarder to find a little more info about the wave event and the area. I have read Lee Pasty's rants! Sorry is all I can say, he doesnt like to venture east of Hayle, let alone north of cornwall, they are a little narrow minded down in the wild wild west!

Any way really looking forward to getting away for the week and visiting one of the most northern outpost of our Celtic Empire, Im sure Pasty is too but he just doesnt know it yet, he dont like change to much, but once hes tried it Im sure he'll like it!

Sounds like there is gonna be a good turn out of locals, got a few mates from lossie down here who are really good drinkers, I hope its the same your way! Any way, me Dom from Kite surf, Mogesy the welsh BFG and Stubby east anglia's finest are coming up tuesday afternoon and want to get on the water, any advice on where to go would be greatly appreaciated! And a good piss up afterwards if you boy are up for it!

Let me know

I work with quite a few locals and after asking them about places to stay they recomended
http://www.ban-carhotel.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the Palace in Peterhead its just been done up.None of them had a clue this event was going on right on their doorstep.
I hope there is a good turnout of riders and that the wind and wave gods will be kind .

Not that I trust the forecasts that far ahead but it looks like it'll be westerly for tuesday so, if it is windy Philorth http://www.multimap.com/s/jzR3B7yA will be the go. Looks like there should be some swell about, so if no wind you'll at least get a surf at the main beach at fraserburgh which is clean on a westerly.

I'm in fraserburgh so you can easily give us a shout on 07976168752 and i'll steer you in the right direction.

Cheers

Saturday is looking good - if the comp doesn't run for the Wed Thu and Fri are people allowed to make a late blow in and fly up on Friday to compete on the Saturday? Needles to say I missed the lift with Bennet and Pasty as I'm working this week but fancy the idea of a quick hit and run up to Fraserburgh!
