I can do hand dragged back roll kiteloops, but they're a bit hit and miss, which I assume will be very similar timing wise to the darkslides. So, to get those and the darklside nailed this winter....

1) Is it best to slowly send the kite to 12 or just passed, pop, then initiate a slow loop?

2) Is it easier with a bigger kite, 10-14m?

3) Any tips with the board and body posture to stop rotating or catching the edge wrong?

There will no doubt be tonnes of quality falls to take on the chin, but that's the only way to learn and progress so bring it!

I too would love these in the bag - and the back roll hand drag you can already do. Will be reading this thread with much interest!

Yeah was trying these in the summer just gone

Think I landed one but it was far from smooth

Don't try it over powered

Don't try it underpowered

It's a bit like the backloop kiteloop transition , you need the smooth conditions

Slowly loop the kite, at the point you feel like your starting to swing under the kite just lay onto your front almost like a body drag then as you finish the loop you should get the lift again to get you back on your board

The mistakes I make are genraly pulled out of the water 10 ft to a stalling kite too far back in the window

Good luck

Committ, as you bring the kite back to twelve fall forward and pull your leading knee up and keep pulling on your back hand...loop the kite and as it travels back up it will pop you off the water...can throw in various other options then, transitions, rolls etc

...and try to smile

Cheers for the tips and the link to the other post. Got it clearer in my head now so will try a few when I next get out and see how it goes. Will let you know how I get on.

Oh, I forgot it really helps to be LIT and when I say fall forward....really make your self fall right on forward just using the power of the kite to keep you up enough.
