It could be about to get a whole lot easier to get hands on a zeeko foil in the near future. 8)

Personally I think I prefer the idea of a plate mounted foil over a box type. Apart from videos, I've never seen a foil up close or anyone on a foil except for Steph Bridge and she disapeared upwind out of site pretty quickly. Shops don't seem to actually have them in store so it's on line I'm afraid.
I'd go for the Zeeko. I have had one of their foils and it was excellent.

don't forget el stubbo mike

http://www.shinnworld.com/#!el-stubbo/wsaak

Shinn lent me one for a couple of days last week and I preferred it to the shinnster - its Sooooo much stiffer with just the right amount of flex for me - hacking up wind in it is plenty of fun and it planes really early hacking up to Cabezo was a doddle. - its a lot of fun without the foil and really makes you gybe properly - it will really help teach proper gybing technique for foiling as it has very little nose.

Thanks Again mike for pushing me to the chop top as a foil base - when I wasn't on el stubbo I was bashing waves or foiling on the chop top - it may have taken 9 months to get there but it worked a dream. That board is so tough it survived being washed up on the cliffs without a scratch!

EXPANDING FOOTSTRAPS

I strongly believe that it is easier to learn with front footstraps fitted rather than go strapless so, for those of you that are learning and have concern about trapped feet injuries, here is a homemade solution I have been using for 3 months now. It seems durable and I have never got trapped with it.

Shinn and I are on the road this week.
Interest in foiling is surprisingly keen and the Zeeko looks like a very affordable high performance way to get the job done. Shinn uses the alloy one over the carbon - he says thay are as good as each other, but the alloy is actually easier to travel with as it breaks down more compact for transport.
We'll both be at the Camber Demo on Sat / Sun if anyone is around...

I had another session on my airush proto foil at the sands of Luce demo in Scotland on Sun. Nice to be learning something new :-)
Have full media with me for the demo - and drone.. will try and get some foil footage.. Any foil riders down.. look us up...

Shinn and Airush Flags next to the centre...

Good to see you yesterday Mike and Mark. The new boards are very impressive, especially the El Stubbo with Zeeko foil. Will be talking to 24/7 today!

Thanks, you too!
we got out yesterday - Mark and Neil Gent were both foiling - Neil really liked the setup, think he's getting his wallet out! lol.

Hope to get in the water today, and also we'll be at the demo at camber sands on Sat / Sun, so if you want to see + chat Shinn foil that's the time and place!

The Zeeko foil is very nice, requires a bit more power to get going (diving the kite hard), as the initial lift is lower with the higher aspect front wing. The carbon also breaks down well & is easy to travel with.

The Shinn boards look nice, but the plate/board combo seem a bit expensive - I would prefer a dedicated foil board.

With the recent northerlies, is there anyone foiling along the north Kent coast & if so, which spots work? Most I suspect involve a long walk/bodydrag at anything other than high tide?! Anyone going out this week?

Review of the Moses Vorace Board with both Freerace and Competition hydrofoils by iKSurfMag:

In case you missed it, here is the one about the T40 Silente. This combination won all of the finished Amateur races at the Edge Cup last weekend but the Winner, Lance Olner, who was on a demo board, then bought a T40 Vorace Freerace combination:

All Moses Hydrofoils fit on standard 4 hole systems so put them on whatever is compatible e.g. Shinn.

When CNN need authoritative comment on a global socio/economic topic, it's good to know they can call up Kev at KA kitesurfing for the final word.
What's far more alarming is the speed at which Kevin got that zeeko/stubbo dialled - he only got it a week ago, and he had may have had one 10 min session on a local chap's moses from last year.

https://www.facebook.com/KtwoDistributi ... 8529427307

After 6 months of using a proto foil I have still not had my own Stubbo - more back orders going out this week - when we get surplus I'm going to invest in a carbon zeeko and new stubbo. See if the french tests were right. Motivation to foil is right up there after seeing the Bridges in atcion at the VKSA. Mark had a new proto "stubetto" on stand and water. 95cm long!
