I was planning on spending at least £3000 to go to Luderitz for a couple of weeks but reckon Robs event should be cheeper.

The snows good waste deep powder yesterday but cloudy and bloody cold but the sun is shining today so it should feel warmer. Wish i brought a gps im getting some decent speeds keeping up with the skiers :-D

FOOK  This shit just got serious, found out 20 minutes ago I qualified to go to the south of france to compete in the world speed championships. Looking foreward to the trip with Davo who qualified automatically in the top 20.
48 and competing in a world class event, "only in kitesurfing".

I hereby promise to man up. Just had a text from Tony here at Kiteboarder with a £50.00 sponsorship for fuel costs. Can't get a bloody signal at present to text him to thank him but massive thanks Tony "Diamond Geezer".

Is that two reinforcement ribs I can see? He'll break it you know

Got my quiver together today after nearly finishing the repair to the damaged one from Weymouth. Giving them a good checking over and adding a few vinyls ready for Camargue.

SPEED CHALLENGE.. less than a week left. At the moment Dave Wilde has the prize. Few days of wind coming up and although off shore you can get into the channel at Roa Island on low tide or use Foulney on high tide. Remember it's only £5.00 a shot. On average most people are capable of doing almost twice the wind speed so to beat Daves average speed of 32 Knots it could be possible to beat on a big kite in 16 knots of wind. If a few of you want to give it a go together and are worried about the off shores I will join you and provide safety cover, C'mon guys turn it into a competition and help me get to a world speed event next year in the process.

From the info on their website it looks like they may have the record. I don't think it takes 18 seconds to do 500m at that speed so it's got to be over 56knots average when ratified? I wonder how much it's cost to get the record?

Yup it certainly looks like they believe they have it!?
Could be interesting if they have good winds when the kiting begins next month.
