May be its because he is spanish now. :-D But seriously, congratulations, and I hope it leads to more now that it all seems to be working out for him.

Yeah is that because every kiter is a wakestyler and follows the PKRA? Maybe this egocentric idea of what kitesurfing is about is why the current competition format appeals to a very small percentage of actual kitesurfers?

He is by all accounts a nice guy, works hard and undeniably has talent and style, but do I really care who won… no!

Seconded. I really don't care about the PKRA at all.

I like the look of boarder cross though.

I thought so too dude, roll on the next round in Tarifa.
and yes the coverage is so bad, why do they have such dullards doing the commentary

and its not about the pkra or any "governing body", it was about a guy coming back to the comp circuit after a couple of years out and winning it,,,,,,

I agree.

First, he's a nice guy.

Second, he took a few years out to do other stuff. He damaged his knee and had to work hard to strengthen it again.

Now he is back at the top level and a small age gap has opened up between him and the current crop at the top. Despite all the above he came out top in a hard fought event.

Good for him and a great story.
