KiteBoarding at WHITE AIR '09

Shoot the breeze and stay in the loop with the unhinged and unhooked word on the street.

slider park on brighton seafront??? maybe an event to miss if organizers can't see how embarrassing this sounds.

agreed, you would need a 500foot floating bar to stop the chop getting at the obstacles... be OK if its dead calm and ski's do all the work.

i have heard that the slider will be a catamaran hull anchored out.

think it would certainly be a good laugh.

Jamesv, of course Brighton isn't an ideal slider venue, no ones pretending it is, and of course it will be difficult for both riders and rail design with certain compromises made.

but with over 50,000 spectators and insain media coverage at the event kiting must have a prescence.
what ever your own thoughts are kiting needs to showcase its possibilities to move forwards as a sport.....its proven that a freestyle comp keeps the general public interested for all of about 3 "boosts".... no more.
despite the difficulties the venue holds park stye kiting is something everyone from every background can relate to. it legitimises our sport along with the other core sports at the event.

there is going to be no make shift rail at this event and its design carefully thought out by both pro riders and qualified engineers to deal with the pottentially difficult conditions....

read about it in the next issue of kiteworld....

in the mean time check out these not so big names hitting this pretty makeshift feature....

No there wont be any big names hitting the slider will there......

As quoted from White Air ....

We're pleased to announce that five-time World Kitesurfing Champion Aaron Hadlow will be at this year's White Air to demonstrate this amazing activity along with many other of the world's top riders on a specially constructed slider! Regarded as one of the world's top 3 freerider Ruben Lenten, winner of the Red Bull King of the Air, Maui we also hope to be confirmed!

Thank you! Yes its not ideal but its a good venue, and there are going to be plenty of big riders taking part! Come down and show your support for a booming sport, and get it some much needed coverage!! http://www.whiteair.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
