Kitesurfing Ireland

Shoot the breeze and stay in the loop with the unhinged and unhooked word on the street.

Advice needed!!

Just looking for a bit of advice on kiting in Ireland and wind stats as can't find much online - dominant wind direction - chances of wind in autumn etc.

I'm going to be there in Sept/Oct time, I've looked at the spots closest to Belfast(flying into there) and looks like Sligo/Donegal on the West Coast or Tyrella and Ballyholme on the East Coast. So my question is, where is most likely to be windy and how likely, the West Coast or East Coast, and also any recommendations on nice towns to stay in? And is it even worth taking kit for a weekend that time of year or not likely enough to be windy? Appreciate that's always a gamble though!

Cheers for help!

Always wind in autumn. Where depends on what your looking for and your level. Good crew kite a tyrella but I suggest go West if you can. Wind is south westerly most of the time with some north westerly days. Swell should be good. It's worth taking your kit if you get 1 day of what we have here
