Newbie needs kite buddy Oxwich Bay this weekend

Shoot the breeze and stay in the loop with the unhinged and unhooked word on the street.

Hi All,

This is my first post as a Newbie Kiter. I've had 3 days lessons up in Rhyll and done all the safety drills etc, but the wind dropped on day 4 so never actually got up on the board though I can control the kite (9m at that point I was just about to hitch onto the 12m and try a few board starts), and get the board on and off in the water etc. It was pretty choppy and I felt confident.

My question is (having bought a setup with a few kites and noting the wind is looking good for Oxwich Bay this bank holiday), should I get down there and attempt a few board starts alone? Is there anyone out there willing to be my Kite buddy for the weekend and help me launch & land??

I'm mad keen to get in the water.

It will be very busy at Oxwich on Sunday, I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner personally. Wait for a nice SW where kiters will be spread along lots of different beaches in the area...
