I struggle sometimes to reach the depower rope and when fully depowered, i dont like the rope flapping about. Sticking it to the velcro can be tricky and is also not that reliable especially in strong winds. So... I was thinking of doing some mods to my 5th element bar n lines. Was thinking of getting a new chicken loop with a depower cleat (slingshot, liq force?), and leaving the rest of the lines the same. Anyone tried smthg similar? Any tips on which chicken loop works best and where to pick one up?
Cheers

I've done the same but vice versa, did this on a liquid force bar for a friend who just couldn't get on with the below the bar depower. you can adjust the cleat up and down on the north bar. In Scotland I don't think it's a good idea (in my opinion) to have a below the bar depower as it's gets quite gusty its very hard to adjust in strong and light winds on the liquid for one.

Thanks Alan. I heard that some people find it difficult to use the below the bar, but dont understand why it should be any harder. Surely its the same pull required to depower, and the position doesnt feel that awkward?? Suppose i'll have to try it to see. Cheers.

Hi - did you know you can lower the depower cleat on the north bars? it does impact the amount of bar throw you have and the instant sheet out depower, but a few inches shouldn't make much of a difference to that.
