North West Kitesurfing is based exclusively on Walney Island, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria.
We are now in our third year of business and happy to be BKSA Approved for the second year running.
We offer tuition in all wind directions with a second location four miles away and back up from one of our two rescue craft a 50hp powered Zap Cat or three seater Seadoo Jet Ski.

Teaching on Starkites Sbow bow kites ensures 100% de-power and tuition in wind from 10-25mph without compromise to student safety.

Walney Island boasts many beaches with Earnse Bay being the choice location for tuition and the base of North West Kitesurfing. This location once again will be hosting round 2 of the BKSA freestyle championships from 13th - 15th June.

The schools proprietor Gary Powell is IKO level 2, BKSA Senior Instructor and National Trainer ensuring top class tuition and in depth detail to safety. Both Gary and his assistant have been CRB checked for your peace of mind and both are qualified First Aiders and powerboat L2 holders with a high level of Zap Cat experience.

In 2008 NWKS is hoping to be running regular advanced coaching clinics the first being 31st May and 1st June with Dave Ibby, this is already fully booked. Anyone interested in future clinics are advised to contact us with details.

Many details are on the website http://www.nwks.co.uk including courses, locations, past students comments, accommodation, videos and galleries.

NWKS also runs Zap Cat Experiences......... Details on the website.

Teaching throughout winter, however you want, 3 hour sessions, full days, coaching, etc. Due to it being quieter very good chance of 1-1 tuition at no extra cost. Powerkite, buggy and landboard lessons for those who don't want to get wet. Courses running weekends only unless for group bookings of 4. Gift certificates for all our courses are available.
Also facilitating pre ITC shadowing, BKSA instructor cross-over courses, powerboat courses arranged within the Lake District.
