Important info forr anyone visiting Starr Gate at Blackpool.

There is no parking!

Due to the tram shed construction, the gravel car park has now gone and the road to the slip way has various barriers and is coned off in most areas, parking here will block access to the beach as it is only wide enough for one car. I suspect this will last several months and similar parking restrictions will probably remian in place once the work has finished.

Best place to park is down at the new Trax windsports centre at St Annes, here you can take advantage of a kite shop and excellent facilities. A short walk north, along the beach will take you to an area where the tidal drop isn't too great at low tide

BLCC members are of course, not affected by this!

Update on the parking situation at star gate

A lot of poeple have been parking in the small area of road left around the entrance to the new tram shed, as a result, access at times has been difficult
This is the access point for coast gaurd and emergancy services so it was only a matter of time before the parking in this area was looked at more closley
Plent of "no parking" cones in the area now, they carry the name of Lancashire constabulary, so it looks like the local plod may be watching the area
This will get worse as we head into summer and lorries require access to the new tram station, I heard this is going to be the case today!

The car parks around the alexs old, new shop are still probably the best option right now

It's been ages since I've been Kiting at Blackpool, what is the deal with parking?

Is there anywhere to park at Stargate and go from there anymore? Or does everyone from the car park further down near the new Kitesurfing shop on the beach, towards St Annes?

As I have just come from there last week as a non local I can only say what I saw..

Who would build a tram line and then have no parking around it to come and use it??????????????????????

Reason I say this is it would also be parking for kite users as same area.. we where going to as a family go on the tram but by the time we parked up we where near the top anyway so didn't use it and we just saw the odd person in there and certainly not full in anyway.. just a non local view point nice idea no parking around to use it :?
