I'm new to kiting & wanted to find somewhere safe, sunny,with warm water,good instruction & a friendly atmosphere.I found all this with Redseazone in El Gouna.This is a Polish owned centre(multilingual) & a really great bunch of guys & girls.They have a huge training area with a maximum of waist high depth of water.This centre is the least busy of 3 centres on the beach,the others are german & ok but crowded,having been involved in a near fatal accident earlier in the year at one of the german centres due to too many learners(& my inexperience!)I wanted to keep some space between me & other learners.El Gouna is a great spot,not anything like the usual egyptian shitholes,my wife loved it & a happy missus=less earache=more kitesurf holidays......Result!!!Check out" onclick=";return false;

I'm helping out a new company called Waterkite that is based in Hurghada Marina. Rather than the traditional kite school on a beach, we use a boat to access destinations. Presently we spend a lot of days close to the sandbanks as they are such a good kite spot. It's only about 10 minutes to the spot from our shop which is located in the Marina. We are a North Test Centre and registered Kite School. All our equipment is included in our course's and it is all North 2010/2011. We have Jaime, Team Series, X Ride for boards, and full range of Rebel, Fuse, and Vegas. I guess the difference with Waterkite is that they only take 4 customers a day for intensive training. It's a VIP kiteboarding experience. You will only see a few other kiters all day so it's like being in a kiteboarding video shoot rather than in the crowded beach schools. Abou Mingar is only accessible by boat. It's shallow water, but make sure you pack some kite sox or thin booties as there is a few sea urchins you might step on. The team is nice, Robbie is the owner, and chief instructor, and Mido and Mahsoub are also instructors. English, dutch, german, russian are spoken perfectly. There are some nice places to stay in Hurghada, like the Steigenberger, or if you want somewhere cheap there is Ivory Suites, or a lot choose to stay in a rental apartment. They have just finished doing up the whole of the centre of Hurghada this week and it looks like a totally different place. Anyway check out for more information. You will not be dissapointed.

If you want somewhere with fantastic kite conditions, a safe, fun friendly atmosphere in the kite station and around the resort, and a great night life then you should check out Red Sea Zone in El Gouna, Near Hurghada. El Gouna is a small tourist resort which is privately owned so none of the usual hassle you get elsewhere in Egypt.
Also they offer downwind trips, kite safaris, trips to and 2 parties organized by the center each week.
Check out their website for more information.

I will be in Hurghada in April. I really liked Element Kite School in El Gouna and 7BFT in Soma Bay. I am at the water start level so I will take courses. Is Soma Bay better then El Gouna spot?
