S2AS Rip off boards

Shoot the breeze and stay in the loop with the unhinged and unhooked word on the street.

So a couple of weeks back bought a board from kitesboardsandmore - the ebay account of S2AS, board was a Xenon Laluz listed on ebay they have a few of these boards for sale all apparently with the same minor defect. Slight epoxy around rails to prevent delamination. I asked before I bought and these boards have not been repaired just have epoxy layer to stop delamination. So paid £180 for the board and then guess what after 3 sessions the board has delaminated on 3 seperate corners, preety ovbious they have sold me a dodgy board that has been repaired and this repair has failed instantly. Guess what they will not refund me my money apparently this delamination ( In 3 SEPERATE places) is the result of crash damage. So Thanks to these jokers £180 out of pocket and without a board and no money to buy another one... Absoulte awful service normally wont buy second hand but this was from S2AS one of the biggest shop in UK surley they wont screw me over. Just reccomend everyone to steer clear of this shop and especially these scam boards on ebay, I have bought from a bunch of shops in the UK and never had a problem like this.

Text from ebay about the epoxy/delamination - "The previous owner has treated the board with a thin application of epoxy around the edges of the board to prevent delamination."

Doesnt look like crash damage to me  Cant you take it up with ebay, they are very strict about this type of thing. If you paid by Paypal they will even debit it out of S2AS bank account to get your money back.

I've always had good service from S2AS and have defenses them before when most others slate them. Being a retailer selling kite equipment always has the potential for conflict due to kiting equipment usually having a hard life, wet all the time, chucked in bank of vans, crashed in the beach etc but in this instance that board had an obvious problem, I have never see anything like that before that was not the result of a serious manufacturing defect. My boards are all cracked and scratched but nothing like that, plus the advert although stating the board is used clearly gives the impression that the board is in excellent condition with no faults, it actually stated SOLD AS NEW.

C'mon Angelo, pay up, don't be a Scrooge there is obviously something wrong with the board you have sold this guy.

Failing that have u tried the eBay/Paypal route??

Was bought through paypal totally forgot about opening a case with them. I think its been to long now since paid like 6 weeks back. It's definitely not crash damage literally used 3 times and I had no impacts on the board...

I personally wouldn't buy a bottle of water from him if I was stuck in the Sahara Desert .

Have you not read all the sh!t on this forum about his shops over the years . Go through paypal / eBay , you will get your money back .

Good luck .

For the record my experience wasn't due to a fault with equipment. It was 100% poor customer service. Couldn't organise a pillow fight in feather factory.

Wrong Item was sent to me, the board I brought was sold to someone else, they agreed to cancel the order and refund me. It then took 3 weeks of consistent hounding to get my money refunded.

Like I said good luck with that one

I have seen a fair few of those boards do exactly the same thing. The straps and pads fall apart too. They have been like that since they released the boards in 2009 i think. They used to swap the pads and straps straight away, no questions. They knew all about the issues with them.

On the other hand i've never had any problems with s2as.

There do seem to be a number of people who have a very strong dislike for Angelo, especially people with links to the kitesurf industry. I have never fully understand the reason to be honest.

I have also heard a lot about these boards delaminating, there is definitely some kind of issue with them.

Oh well, lash them up and sell them to unsuspecting punters, easy money

I and two other friends had the 2010 laluz, ALL of us suffered from this problem, two of us had replacements issued under warranty. I'm pretty sure one warranty was dealt with through S2AS.

Nice boards to ride but significant issues with the same problem!

You have rights dude, even though the board is 2nd hand. Make sure you get sorted out by them, I'd suggest a full refund is certainly in order as I can't see how they can offer to repair that.
This is indeed piss poor service of the highest order.

Hi,

It is only the top sheet there is nothing structural.
You could remove the top sheet, sand a bit (not too agressively) and varnish it or glass it with resin.

It is a piss take from the shop.
You should send them this link to...
You are not the first one.
The guy tried to glue it back hence why it is a bit yellow and dirty...

I think the real issue here (on top of them saying that this is caused by damage you did - which it obviously is not) is whether S2AS knew the board had been repaired and had this well known manufacturing fault - which given that it has fallen apart after 3 uses would suggest it was a repair not a "reinforcement". As a shop who has sold a number of Laluz boards I am sure they would be aware of the problem, so I am slightly confused as to how they would not have noticed that the board had been repaired. If you dont get any luck out of PayPal and Ebay, in your position I would go to the small claims court.
