Re: Kiting alone...
Due to my hours in the week, I can get out most mornings when windy. The beach has a lot of dog walkers, but I don't think it's fair they have help. Their are a handful of other kiters some days but when there is no one I do take more precautions. I have a chain and caribina which I tie to a railing...

Re: What would happen if you didn't buy a new kite?
What's going with the Bars, slingshot comp going for over £400, you can get a good board for that. I have been thinking about upgrading, but new kit is extortionate at the mo, rather repair when needed.

Re: A plea to inexperienced Camber riders!
After all the comments regards Poole Harbour! that ole chestnut :-D Roll on winter when it will thin out again  I prefer to be on my 10m or 8m, summer has always been the season for newbs, light winds and warm water. Agree with giving newbs advice, just means they'll progess quicker and spe...

Re: A kite specific to girls?
It's all a gimmick at the end of the day, North sells kites for chavs, Slingshot for old people who want to look/feel cool, Naish just for old people, Flysurfer for weirdos and now Wainman has a kite for girls (girl specific kite not the the RPM which is just a girls kite) Lol! But you could say al...

Re: A kite specific to girls?
The down side to a women specific kite is when they want to sell it. As it's still a male dominated sport there will be less if a market to sell to, but then again it might not matter with some :p

Ha! Good idea regards the soldering iron. The water slushing about in the hood is a strange sound when going along :)

Re: Comparing a 9m with another 9m
Last time I was out , I got to thinking about kite sizes between different manufacturers are they the same , like is a 9meter flexifoil the same as a naish 9meter? Also whenever I'm out with a certain friend who remain nameless, if he's out on his 7 I'll be out on my 9 and if I'm out on my 15 he'll...

Would be good. But no holding my breath. If it did getting anywhere would be useless as everything grinds to a halt. Anyway winds back tomorrow :)

[quote="TonyP"]I like the fact that some guys / girls wanna wear bright color lids .
As if I see anyone wearing one if I'm out , I keep as far away as poss from them .
As they are norm learning / beginners or dickheads with go pros .

Re: Single / double skin and storm wind beater??
Ahh my bad it's the mystic storm top which doggy correctly pointed out. It's really good and it works for me. It is a close fit but the fabric has a bit of stretch so it's not restrictive. I am not wearing on the water over the winter suit as it's still warm, it's good when coming off to keep the wi...

Why don't you get a mystic storm wind beater top. I got one and certainly helps on those bitter days to keep toasty. I wore it over my summer shorty today and was toasty

Re: The Big Charity Downwinder
Safety_Crab One observation that could improve the event next year...here goes When the forecast says its going to be windy when there's no wind...and the wind picks up right on time, it's probably a good idea to accept the forecast is accurate. What an earth were you prats doing launching 12m kite...

Re: The Big Charity Downwinder
We were some of the last kiters to go as well being in row I. It was fruiting to wait along time to launch. At 1st I was glad not being at the front as I would have needed my 14m to get going knowing it was going to like it did. You could sense the urgency to get going as wind picked up and kiters w...
