Re: foil board - what kite?

Foil kites are less likely to fall out of the sky in the first place. Despite the perception that foil kites are harder to relaunch in light winds - they are actually much easier to relaunch. The reason being they are a) much lighter, and b) the bridle means you are lifting the entire trailing edge ...

Re: Hello all! Anyone from Cheltenham?

Hello, Im 20 mins out of Gloucester. There are alot of people scattered round gloucester/hereford/swindon/bath/worcester who kitesurf. Most go to Brean/Weston or South Wales. If you are a decent rider just head to Rest Bay in Porthcawl, there are always people about. There is a facebook group called...

Re: Kite size for surfboard riding

surfboards vary hugely. I have some boards I need to be really powered on to get up wind, others are great in light conditions. So this question is kind of hard to answer. Typically I would want to have enough power in the kite to be able to pull the bar in and feel a strong pull on the harness and ...

Re: Line lengths - how much difference do they actually make?

Ryan Coote swears by longer lines in waves Tony - the reasoning is the kite has further to fall before you need to attend to it and get tension in the lines again. The reason people used short lines a few years ago was because kites were so slow - but modern wave kites like the REO are rapid! The lo...

Re: Line lengths - how much difference do they actually make?

line lengths make a huge difference for sure. Different brands work on different lengths most are 20-25. shorter lines make turning speed a lot faster. great for looping etc. 25m is a perfect day to day length for most kites. Gives you a larger wind window to help generate more power. larger kites r...

Re: What would happen if you didn't buy a new kite?

the biggest problem with bars is volume. kite companies can only sell as many bars as they do kites. bars are made up of a load of injection moulded plastic parts. this is cheap in volume, but the set up costs are expensive. The tiny volume means these costs are spread over a small number of units m...

If you are into jumping, and smash a lot of boards why not look at the AXIS New Wave? Not a real surfboard but lasts forever and rides great.

Re: Which board to jump strapless ?

AXIS New Wave 5'4 - no doubt about it!

It actually feels more like a 5'7, its good in light wind, pretty much indestructible. full eva top makes it perfect for strapless airs.

Re: Replacement Pump

Kite ones are expensive generally because pumps are RIDICULOUS to ship. They are cheap but really bulky - so we are pretty much paying to ship air around.
