Re: El Medano....next week

Hi Tom, Leo's pizza and crepe restaurant is very good with kids. There's a decent playground in the square which my kids enjoy. Beach is great for the kids as they can't escape due to the low cliff all round. Never rented but there are plenty of shops to choose from. I chatted to these guys about co...

Re: Private Rental El Medano Sept?

Cheers, I'm familiar with the town/beach set up in El Medano, been before. Was looking for somewhere in the second tier maybe so a bit cheaper. I can't see Pauline's prices but all those boxey style appartments in the front line are pretty much standard prices. It's like the owners sit down together...

Private Rental El Medano Sept?

Anyone have any contacts in El Medano who might rent out an appartment for a couple of weeks in September? I know there are loads of sites such as ownersdirect, homelidays etc but they're all taking a cut and in the past (not in Tenerife but elsewhere) I've always been able to find something a bit m...

Re: Bar length

Don't think the cleat is the issue. My interpretation is this: What Ely would like to do is be able to push the bar away and depower without having to bend forwards and loose his stance. I had this issue when I was learning. When the power got a bit much I ended up bent forwards in an effort to take...

Re: Kenya in January - best spot: Watamu, Nyali or Mwa?

Diani Beach is a great place to kitesurf. Relaxed downwinders, flat water inside the reef and small waves outside. Turtles, dolphins, incredible coral and fish so take a mask and snorkel. Amazing white sand and clear water. Great memories. If you want somewhere to stay on a budget, Stilts Backpacker...

Re: The Big Charity Downwinder

I feel a bit like I've been taken for a ride on this issue. And I don't expect to ask friends and family to donate in good faith, if it's going to a commercial company. Almost feel happier pulling out and giving the cash directly to the charity as an independent donation. As previous poster said, th...

Lost - 2011 Naish Momentum

My mate Rob lost his 2011 Naish momentum at Old Town Hunny last Thursday. It has a Hunstanton Watersports sticker on it and the grab handle is only attached by one bolt. Looks like this: m Probably long gone by now. Tide was going out and wind SW 20 gusting to mid 30s (apparently, I wasn't there). I...

Re: Family Winter Holiday

I'm in the same position. Need some sun and some wind, baby will be 1 in March. We're thinking about El Medano, Tenerife on basis that Egypt will be too hot and as I got rotten guts last time we were in Egypt, what hope has a baby got. Wind not guaranteed but then its always a gamble when you go awa...

Re: New wetsuit - back zip or chest zip?

Apologies for thread hijack, but I'm still not convinced about the washing machine tactic. I'd love for it to work though! Couple fo questions: Do you rinse all the sand off first so that it doesn't clog up the washer? My shower is full of sand when I rinse my suit. Has to go somewhere.... Do you ta...

You painted someone elses house without their permission?
That would make me very grumpy :-D Did you think they'd never notice?
Be happy if the neighbours mowed my lawn for me though.

Re: Ocean Rodeo Razor: pay it forward program :)

PART II......... ....so the kite went down a good few times and relaunch was very easy, which I believe is in part due to the kinks in the wing tips. Water was pretty flat at this point though so the Razor wasn’t taking too much punishment. We were both very impressed by the build quality, however. ...

Re: Thieving-bastards ? A solution ?

I like the idea of this but can you clarify something for me please?.....
Fromt the picture it's not clear if this is large enough to fit a head or whether it's just intended to remove a hand at the wrist.
TIA, George.

Re: golf bags.... they catching on

What puzzles me about these golf deceiver bags is you pay a slight premium for them and for some reason Naish, Best or whoever plaster their logo all across it! Go figure! Its like they're trying to stab you in the back! What would be useful (for most of us) though is if kite schools in resort loca...

Re: Dahab

Hi Olivier, Not sure if you can kite off the Bay View beach without paying Harry Nass Centre. It's not a lot to pay though and well worth it as you get storage, compressor, land and launch and good advice. Toby is a top fella and very helpful, as are his crew. Not sure if he's still there though. Wa...
