Re: Board size for use with boots

Thanks john. Freestyle or wakestyle is a decision I need to make, but I'll bear that in mind... The ultrasonic does look like an awesome board!

Board size for use with boots

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a board to go with boots and I was wondering about sizing....

I'm about 65kg dry. What sort of size do you reckon would be suitable? I'm currently riding a 131x39 monk with straps.

Thanks
Dave

Re: Broken metatarsal

I managed to get out on my surfboard the other week, and I can report that it all went well. So good to be hanging on to a kite again.... I did try the twintip, and that really hurt... Felt like it was just crushing my foot, so I'll stick with the surfboard for the time being. All in all, I was off ...

Firewire vanguard

Anyone out there riding a firewire vanguard? They look like a really good option for kitesurfing, so I'd be interested to hear your opinions.

Cheers

Re: Broken metatarsal

2 months later...

The air boot is off. The bone is healed now, so I'm booked in for some physio starting on Wednesday. I'm aiming for my first kite session to be the weekend of the 27th of February. I'm going to be going for the strapless surfboard at first.

Can't wait!

Re: Broken metatarsal

thanks for the advice mate... I'll look that stuff up on youtube. I haven't booked in any physio appointments yet, I want to wait until the bruising goes a bit. I have found though that switching to the boot does mean I can move my ankle a bit, so walking with the crutches does mean that it gets som...

Re: Broken metatarsal

ow, that does sound painful. My prognosis is much less severe than that.... I have a spiral fracture, and it's basically a crack running through the bone, but it's not fully snapped. I actually did the injury by stepping up on a 3 foot wall holding a kite board, just as a large gust blew through. th...

Broken metatarsal

Hi,

I've broken my 5th metatarsal, so I'm going to be off the water for a while.

Anyone else out there done that? Fancy sharing your experiences of getting kiting again?

i really hope it'll heal quickly!

Kite size for surfboard riding

I would tend to use one size smaller (within my quiver of kites) for a surfboard. So if I would normally be on my 10 for a twintip, I'd be using my 8 for a surfboard

Re: The best kitesurf pump?

The naish pumps are pretty good... the leash that you use to attach to the kite hooks round the handle, so you can wind the inflation tube around the pump itself. Keeps it all tidy.
