Re: North Rebel 14m - what replacement?!

Hi - I have had a similar set up as you for some time. 2009 Rebels in 14m and 10m and a 7m Evo. Later I added a lightwind board - the set-up was good for 12-33knots. I did find a bit of a gap between the 14m and 10m at times. I now have a dedicated lightwind kite (a Turbine) and a 12m Rebel 2013/14....

Re: Bandits - which bar to use?

Thanks for taking the time to reply and clarifying how the F-one bar releases. From experience it's those moments where it can all go wrong that I worry about. I have added pigtails to the kite so that I will try a few different bars from friends. I take your point on the price difference between No...

Re: BKSA Membership/insurance

So it's less of a pain in the butt dealing with the "Hayling Kitesurf ASSOCATION" as their banner says ?

Sorry couldn't resist.

Bandits - which bar to use?

Hi, I recently bought a F-one Bandit 7 kite but need a bar to go with it. I thought that any 4 line bar would do but I noticed that the attachment points to the kite all end in a knot/bobble. I thought therefore that I would buy the F-one bar to go with the kite but have been advised that when the Q...

Re: The twitchers are at it again!

I agree with all the points made by joe_mgh above. Not long ago I was having a related discussion with Natural England on birds and kitesurfing at Pegwell Bay, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. http://www.kiteboarder.co.uk/kitesurfing/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60679&p=361217&hilit=pegwell+ban#p361217...

Re: protect your kite -special offer for forum members

I think this covered it pretty well You've got a niche product your trying to sell to an already niche demographic. Now your alienating actively pissing of some of your potential customers and looking very amateur - Exactly her thoughts. +1 from me. I actually think that Tony should ask for the ad ...

Re: Windy Areas (reports by Dan Howitt and Trista)

A couple of years ago in Pegwell I was out on my friend’s 12m Rebel in 18-22knots. I had given him my 10m as he is lighter than me. It was a cloudless sunny day. After an hour or so the wind started to pick-up like a gust but didn’t come back down, it just got stronger and stronger within just a few...

Thank you for the replies.

Appreciate the feedback - Last thing I want to do is suggest someone who is not safe.

North wales kitesurfing schools

Hi

I have friends and family who want to get in to kitesurfing, they are based around Chester.

Has anyone used a nearby kitesurfing school that they would recommend?

Thanks

Re: 5th Line Flexifoil Setup + 4 Line Safety System Question

I haven’t flown the Force but its precursor the Ion, which also flags out as you describe by sitting at 3/9-o-clock, and yes these kites still hold a fair amount of power, especially in stronger winds - not the best system. Not sure what you mean by 3rd safety? Do you mean completely releasing the k...

Re: Packdown issues

Thanks for the replies . So broadly speaking we seem to be in agreement that a packdown in windy and gnarly conditions is as Lucy said a 'PITA'! The reason why I posted is that last week, cross onshore winds, I was on a far out tack and just completed a downloop transition when the kite did a pac-ma...

Packdown issues

I have done a few emergency pack downs and there are two points that I wanted to ask : 1 Safely reeling in the flag out line to the bar is quite difficult in strong winds. Securing the flag out line is also tricky – half hitches require wrapping the line around your hand. If you don’t believe me the...
